Happy Buddha Retreats

As some of our retreat guests say: Happy Buddha is not a place, it is a state of mind ๐Ÿงก
We've been welcoming volunteers for the past 10 years and we could write an entire book with their positive testimonies. If you're looking to experience life a bit differently while making a positive difference in this world, Happy Buddha may be the right place for you. Despite our name, we are not a buddhist centre; we are a yoga retreat and welcome all walks of life to share in the joy of yoga and community living :)

We have around 7 volunteers from all around the world at one time. We share meals, work and do activities together.

You'll get:
- a lovely room (shared or private) nestled in stunning nature ๐ŸŒฟ
- daily access to our community yoga classes ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ
- delicious vegetarian food 3 times a day ๐ŸŒฎ
- access to our pool on non-retreat days ๐Ÿ’ฆ
- access to our outdoor sauna once a week ๐Ÿ”ฅ
- access to retreat workshops depending on availability ๐Ÿช˜

๐Ÿ™ But you won't be here to only receive. We count on you to:
- set an intention for your stay at Happy Buddha and take actions towards it.
- practice yoga and/or meditation regularly or, at least, be curious of it.
- foster a positive environment for you and fellow volunteers.
- refrain from using your phone and scroll endlessly.
- organise an event for the team at least once during your stay, and then once a month.
- keep our volunteer living space tidy and beautiful :)

My time at the Center was relatively a good experience, the living space was clean and comfy and the food was good as well. The work was fairly easy and I felt as though it was fair. However there were a couple of other volunteers who had been there a long time and made it a little difficult to feel welcomed in to their environment. But other than that great experience, very beautiful place and I would definitely recommend!

Had a fun time, the work is super managebale either housekeeping, kitchen hand, or general duties. The vege food is delicious and the fridge is usually always full. The train station is a 10min walk away and easy to explore other nearby towns, hikes, or go climbing. The team consist of a lot of longer term volunteers and can be slightly closed off. Most people were nice just not necesarilly willing to form longlasting relationships (understandable to short termies). There were a couple people that were disrestpectful and it was mentioned to the volunteer manager and she listened and took notes

The Center has been a wonderful place to live and work! The other volunteers have been so welcoming as have been the retreat guests. The location is incredible for hiking around the Blue Mountains and exploring the area. The team is so collaborative that the work is fair and evenly balanced. I would recommend to anyone :)
