Himkala Adventure
The volunteers will get the chance to stay with a Nepalese family, live the real Kathmandu life, get to live it as a local, learn about the trekking industry, improve your skills with social media and websites, get free tours around Kathmandu, tours around the little villages of the countryside and get discounts if you want to do trekking in Nepal. All of these while hosted with a city and mountain guide.
I am a government licensed city and mountain guide; I have my own trekking company, and I live with my family of 4: my wife and 2 sons (7 and 21) in Kathmandu. You will live with us. You will have your private locked bedroom and a shared bathroom (hot water) with the other volunteer. You will get all three meals, breakfast and dinner being at home.
If you want to get the most out of Nepal, come with us and live like a local!
My wife my sons and I will be really happy to have you in our home and share the Nepali culture with you. My wife loves to cook. You will be living in the first floor where you will have a private room, a bathroom and a living room.
You will have free time to explore Kathmandu and its surroundings. I will be more than happy to organize tour, trekking for you.

I had an amazing experience, with a true immersion into Nepali culture.
Shiva and his family welcomed me with open arms, great care, a comfortable place to sleep, and delicious healthy meals.
I learned a lot from his son Sabinaya during the free tours, where he explained many aspects of Nepal and its diverse cultures.
I also helped improve their website and had full freedom to organize my own schedule, with no pressure.

I had an incredible time volunteering with the home. The family is wonderful and welcomed me warmly as soon as I arrived. I was provided with a private room, delicious meals prepared by the generous mother, and made to feel comfortable my entire stay. I was given a free, 3-hour walking tour with the older son, Sabinaya, an exceptional and knowledgeable guide, through the heart of Kathmandu and had the privilege of learning the city's rich history. the home also organizes treks, so I did the Annapurna circuit with Sabinaya and had an unforgettable experience.

The experience was fun, and the working hours were very fair and flexible. I attended the walking tour and took some photos and videos to create reels for their social media and helped to write their blog. The family are kind, the accommodation is clean and comfortable and the food they provide is healthy and tastes nice. The family will ensure you have a great time! I would recommend this experience. Their place is a little far from the centre but it’s in a quiet neighbourhood with little traffic/noise. Overall it was a good experience

I had the privilege to stay with Shiva and his family for 3 weeks, and it was absolutely amazing. I learnt a lot during my stay about Nepalese culture and the mountains. Doing the Annapurna circuit trek for 12 days with Sabinaya and two other volunteers was definitely the highlight. I had such a great time and would definitely recommend this experience !

I had an incredible experience staying with Shiva and supporting his hiking company by taking photos and helping promote his tours. From the very beginning, Shiva was welcoming, kind, and truly passionate about sharing the beauty of the region.
The accommodation was excellent : I had a big private room that was clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful.
One of the absolute highlights of my stay was the delicious food prepared by his wife, Sharmila.Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. I highly recommend it!
