A traveler should choose to stay with us because here we offer not just a place to stay, but an experience of exchange, companionship, and learning.
Our guesthouse is a calm, comfortable, and welcoming environment where volunteers are welcomed as part of the family. In addition to helping with day-to-day activities, you will have free time to get to know the city, enjoy the region, and have a different experience.
We really enjoy sharing moments, talking, swapping stories, and learning from people from different places. We want to create an environment where everyone feels at home, with respect, care, and good vibes throughout the stay.
We are Carlos and Helena, the people in charge of the guesthouse, and we are starting a new phase in the hospitality industry. We enjoy hosting people, getting to know new cultures, and creating good connections through living together.
Worldpackers will be treated with respect, transparency, and care. We will present the activities, guide as needed, and maintain open communication throughout the entire experience.
More than helping with the guesthouse tasks, we want the volunteer to have a good rapport with us, to get to know a little of our routine, and to enjoy this exchange of experiences.

The tasks were light and calm, which allowed me to enjoy my free time a lot and get to know Paraty better. It was a very pleasant experience. Carlos and Helena welcome you very warmly, I would recommend more organization and clearer communication of the tasks; it's a bit confusing how they communicate and then they tell you to set the rules yourself, at the beginning I had two rules, and out of nowhere, without warning, they changed them.
Regarding the meals, there was always plenty and they told you you could eat everything, but as time passed they stopped buying and they told us we were eating their things and they made us buy replacements.
The location of the inn is very lovely and the tasks are not heavy at all; they just don't like that you stop working during your 4-hour shift.

How lucky we are to have such a good experience right at our first volunteering on the platform. It was a sensational experience to volunteer at the guesthouse with Helena and Carlos. They are two very welcoming hosts and good people! Right from our first day, still shy, we felt good and we really seemed like a family gathering for a Sunday lunch. Laughter and good conversations were part of every meal. It was very nice to get to know the routine of a guesthouse and to exchange experiences and conversations with people so distant from my reality. I leave very happy and with great stories to tell. :)

Helena and Carlos were incredible hosts, always very kind and attentive to me, to my boyfriend, and to all the volunteers. It is possible to notice the affection and care in every detail of the inn.
As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with a delicious lunch, shared at the same table with the hosts and volunteers from different places in the world.
This moment truly made me feel like family. It was a very warm and special experience, which left me eager to return someday and, above all, motivated me to do more volunteering. I recommend this experience wholeheartedly!
