This was my first Worldpackers experience and I really enjoyed it. Made lots of friends and got lots of quality time with the people working there and other volunteers. Bayonne is really beautiful, only 30 minutes by bus from the beach and a short train ride away from many pretty French towns as well as the boarder of Spain so ideal for day or overnight trips on days off. Working hours are always respected and usually 4 hours a day so you often have time to do something else even on the days that you work. During working hours it can be intense but there is always someone to explain things.

This is the second time I volunteer here , I really had a great time with all the volunteers and staff at the hostel . I truly love Bayonne it is a beautiful city and you can easily do day trips as well. Thank you I had a great time.

My stay at the hostel in Bayonne was my first volunteering experience, and I have to say that I absolutely enjoyed it. The whole hostel team and all the other volunteers were so friendly and welcoming, and we shared so many wonderful moments together. The work and working hours are well organised too, and you have plenty of time to enjoy your free time and explore the area. My six-week stay flew by. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience :)

I stayed at Hostel20 for the whole month of September 2026 and I loved this experience.
The working hours and days (20h for 5 days) were always respected and the managers are also quite flexible in case of a shift change.
The atmosphere is always calm and cheerful both among colleagues and with the guests.
Another strength is the strategic location, close to the station and convenient also for buses (both local and FlixBus/BlaBlaCar bus…) so it is very easy to visit the Basque and non-Basque areas (Biarritz, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, San Sebastián, Bilbao or Bordeaux).

It was my first volunteering experience and I am very happy to have spent it there; the staff are very friendly, the facilities are very comfortable, the schedules were always respected. I will miss the people I met there a lot. I highly recommend this place :)
