Island Life Hostel
We are an award winning hostel - The best in Dominican Republic 6 years out of the 10 years we have been open! We are based right in the center of the Colonial Zone just blocks away from all the famous monuments and museums.
There is amazing nightlife all around so if you are looking to immerse yourself in the Dominican culture then look no further.
I restored a beautiful 400 year old Colonial building over a two year period and created Island Life Hostel. We have been running over 9 years now and and hosted hundreds of volunteers. Our team is what make our hostel what it is - we are a laid back team that want to make all our guests feel welcome.

My second time staying here, and it was fantastic.\nIt's one of the few hotels that truly functions as a hostel, with areas and amenities for travelers that will make a real difference to your trip. If you want to learn about the hostel industry, meet people from all over, and get to know the country, this is the best place to stay.\nIt's excellently managed by the owner, who is very flexible. My experience at the hostel was great! 🤩 The schedules are respected and flexible, the tasks aren't difficult and I learned a bit about bartending. The place is in a good location, close to transport and with things to do and visit nearby. Chris was always very helpful and there was a really nice atmosphere among colleagues, staff, and guests. The experience at Hostal Life was very calm, the work really is very easy to carry out, Chris the owner is a calm and friendly person, the hostel is located in the entire colonial area so you'll be close to everything, although the nearest beach is 30 minutes away.
