Karandi Hostel
You have the possibility to leave a footprint in our newly opened hostel, our rooms are very comfortable and, as much as possible we will try to acommodate only volunteers in one of the rooms or private if just 1 at the time). All kind of facilities are at walking distance, the same applies for the beach.
We try to keep a friendly, clean and respectful environment. We like to travel as much as we like to meet people, so having the hostel gives us the possibility to do one or the other. This is NOT a party hostel

Best hostel in Puntarenas; the people are super nice and full of PURA VIDA. I’m very grateful and so happy to have gotten to know such an amazing crew at Karandi and Kinsu. Thanks to Isa, Joe, Fanny, Edu, Charmey, Angie, Jackie, Bella, Jeremy, Edwin, and probably some others I’m missing, but honestly, you make this place even better. You have to come and volunteer here in Karandi; you’ll leave with such an amazing family . 🤍🌱🍀

Working at Karandi was the best experience I could’ve imagined! I especially loved connecting with the staff, they were so friendly, open, and willing to teach me my tasks. Karandi’s facilities are unparalleled if you want to connect with nature, birdwatch, and see all sorts of flora and fauna. I definitely recommend this experience!

Absolutely loved my stay at Karandi Hostel. The staff - from Doña Bella y Fanny to Chinito, Charito, Mari y Joe - truly made me feel at home. Uvita now has a special place in my heart.
In terms of work, everything was easy to do. You work 5h a day for 5 days and then you have two days off which gives you the flexibility to tour around Uvita or go to the towns nearby.

So grateful to Eduardo and the staff who were all very warm and welcoming, and helped with my Spanish! My days consisted of housekeeping on some days from 7am-12pm. and waitressing other days at the restaurant next door from 4-9pm. we had 2 group meals for special occasions, but other than that, I cooked for myself. The gardening was raking leaves 1x/week. I did not work in the reception at all. The hostel is clean and very immersed in nature! There are lots of cool animals and other critters on site. Off site, there are activities like waterfalls, hiking, surfing, and relaxing on the beach.

I definetely loved the experience. The structure of the hostel is impeccable: the rooms, the kitchen, the bathrooms, the cleanliness and of course, the garden where you can see many animals. I felt so good since the first day and was a really good time to connect with myself. It was super hard to leave, I completely fell in love with Karandi and Uvita. I will definitely be back very soon. Thank you so much for everyone, you are a wonderful team <3
