Karandi Hostel
Karandi Hostel and Kinsú Restaurant are both owned and run by Costaricans. Also, our staff is fully local so you will get the opportunity to experience our culture, ways of living and if Spanish is not your mother tongue, to practice it. Working with us, is being part of a big family that takes care of each other and do the best for the benefit of all, and that includes you!
We try to keep a friendly, clean and respectful environment. We like to travel as much as we like to meet people, so having the hostel gives us the possibility to do one or the other. This is NOT a party hostel

Karandi was so Pura Vida! Everyone was so lovely and shared with me lots from the local culture and Food (GALLO PINTO 🫶🏼). Eduardo and Gustavo were amazing with everything and the hostel is incredible (very clean, lots of nature and an open kitchen which makes cooking very enjoyable 😊). Thank you so much Karandi family for these 3 lovely weeks.

I honestly couldn't hope for a better first volunteering than these 2 weeks at Karandi Hostel! To summarize, it checks all the boxes that could wish as a volunteer!
A super beautiful & comfy hostel, where you sleep in the same dorm as the guests (a lot of hostels don't do that). A nice & benevolent team always ready to take on their time to teach you the different tasks, to explain to you nicely what to do and what you can improve, but also on your daily life, inviting you to share breakfast or go out for a drink! You're part of the team!
It was perfect, a big thanks to the Karandi team!

Una experiencia de genial! Karandi Hostel ha sido mi primer voluntariado internacional con WorldPackers y ha sido increíble. Las instalaciones del hostel son completas y muy bien cuidadas, además la ubicación es perfecta. Mi voluntariado consistió en ser camarera en Kinsú y aunque nunca lo habia sido antes, los trabajadores me ayudaron y fueron unos grandes maestros. Las tareas son sencillas y te permiten hacer otras cosas durante el día. Y sin duda, lo mejor de Karandi ha sido el equipo y la convivencia. Repetiría sin duda!

My experience was fantastic and I can only recommend this to anyone traveling or even as a first volunteer experience since everyone's is extremely welcome. You receive your weekly schedule in advance and the hours are very well respected. I personalidade only volunteered in the restaurant, with working hours from 11-4pm or from 4-9pm, with wednestdays and thursdays free. Uvita is a magical and beautiful place, in my free time I had plenty of time to explore nearby waterfalls, hikes and beaches. Thank you so much Eduardo for all the help and making me feel at home for two weeks :)

Fue mi primer voluntariado y no podría haber sido más perfecto. Me encantó el hostel, la gente, el lugar lleno de naturaleza, todo!! De echo me sentí tan cómoda que me quedé un poco más. Eduardo es un excelente anfitrión, amable, generoso, atento. Tiene un equipo de trabajo digno de admirar. Mis compañerxs de trabajo fueron muy pacientes conmigo y me hicieron sentir parte desde el primer día. Extrañaré mucho mi familia Karandi. Sin dudas una experiencia significante en mi viaje. MUCHAS GRACIAS 🫶🏻🦋
