La Guayunga Hostel
We would be delighted to have you with us. If you are interested, we offer collaboration programs in reception, restaurant, maintenance projects, an art project, a community manager, and teaching English and other languages for our work group. In addition, you will learn to operate a hostel in all its areas.
As a thank you, we provide accommodation and one meal at each of your shifts, your collaboration would be five days a week and five hours per day. The minimum time is 21 days.
Prepare yourself for a unique and unforgettable experience! You will sleep in a shared dormitory, with wifi, volunteers' exclusive kitchen, coworking room, and a rooftop with an impressive view of Quito's historic center, surrounded by travelers passionate from all over the world. My experience at the hostel Hostal was really special, not only because of the place, but mainly because of the people behind it. I especially want to thank Jefferson Sofi, for his kindness, trust, and for making me feel welcome from the very first moment. Also to Don Carlos and Doña Yolanda, who were always very attentive and made the experience even more pleasant. That was my first volunteering experience and it couldn't have been better. I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived, I spent three weeks and I understood one more thing; it was an incredible experience.
It's a quiet space, well organized and with very friendly people; you learn a lot every day and you always feel part of the team. The place is in the historic center, so there's a lot to see and visit when you have free time.
I leave with good memories and learnings. I would definitely recommend it, especially for those who want a real experience in a customer service and lodging establishment.

Our three weeks at the hostel was an incredible experience and we are very grateful to Jefferson, Sofia and the entire family and team for welcoming us into their home. From the very beginning they made our time more personal by arraigning to pick us up from the airport for a reasonable amount. Throughout our stay, they were approachable, willing to answer questions or simply chat. You can tell this is more than a business, it's their home and they genuinely enjoy sharing it with visitors and travelers from around the world. If you find yourself in Quito, I would highly recommend!
