We're a middle aged English speaking couple creating a special environment here. Gardening, art and making everyone feel happy is what motivates us.
We have a beautiful home in a very peaceful and idyllic setting that we share with our friendly dogs and cats. You'll have your own lovely room and a bathroom, use of our living areas, access to an art studio and, if its warm enough, use of our pool.
If you are looking for a quiet haven in a beautiful setting the Moulin is for you!
You'll be treated as our guest - in return for some manual help around the garden, orchard and house. We will treat you with trust, respect and humour - and we'll make sure that you get to see the stunning area in which we live whilst you're with us. We see this as an exchange - your labour for our hospitality. We are generous hosts and would be upset if our volunteers felt shortchanged both in the food they eat, their accommodation and the experience. In return we ask that you be motivated during your hours, are enthusiastic, smiling and engage with us. We enjoy having volunteers in our home for several reasons and not only for the tasks that you do - although that is important too. Having a volunteer is motivating - it makes us tackle some of the tasks that maybe we have been putting off. We get a buzz from seeing the progress on our home and gardens, and from seeing this beautiful place through someone else's eyes. And with our children leading their own lives we miss the connection to current culture and love hearing about it through our volunteers.

I had an amazing experience with Jo and Steve ! I have learned so much about gardening and not only that, but I also learned a lot about life as well. Throughout the week it was hard work with a lot of laughter and learning. In the week(ends) they brought us to some beautiful places. Throughout the day every meal was great, and we had everything we needed. They have the nicest cats and dogs, which I am gonna miss. I highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to learn a lot and have a great time while doing it. Thanks for a lovely stay !

Jo and Steve are fantastic hosts. They opened their home to us, and we had a great exchange of knowledge and fun. Whilst working there, we learned a lot about gardening, composting and nature. Jo told us a lot about gardening methods and how nature and crops interact with each other. We felt part of a team, and it was always very clear what we had to do and why. As an animal friend, I was very happy to meet their two lovely cats and two dogs, who are very sweet. Every day we got delicious home-cooked meals, and we got to see the area and some great villages. Thank you both for a lovely time!

Amei ter participado deste programa. Jo e Steve são excelentes anfitriões. Eles gostam muito da troca cultural . A propriedade é muito linda. Aprendi muito com a Jo. Ela gosta muito do que faz e por isso ensina muito bem. O trabalho é bastante físico mas vc faz feliz por poder ajudá los e percebe o quanto ficam felizes com o progresso do trabalho. Eles cozinham maravilhosamente bem.. O lugar é remoto porém a Jo faz questão de levar voluntários para conhecer lugares na redondezas. Fizemos passeios muito agradáveis.

foi minha primeira experiência como voluntária, na primeira viagem solo, primeira viagem para Europa, e não poderia ter caído em mãos melhores. os anfitriões são muito gentis, educados, preocupados com nosso bem estar e se estamos gostando de fazer o que nos foi solicitado. a comida era maravilhosa, tinha tinha vinho e boas conversas sempre no jantar. a anfitriã nos levava para passear quasee todos os dias, conhecer algo, enfim. espero realmente puder retornar, pois amei conhecer esse lugar no inverno, e no verão deve ser maravilhoso! eles foram muito pacientes com meu nível de inglês básico.

I had an great time at Le Moulin. Jo and Steve are amazing people, kind, gentle and generous. I learned about composting, environmental, gardening. The work can be hard but they’re always around showing what need to be done and they have all necessary tools for safety. We had so much fun together with amazing dinners, going out in the cities around and also playing Uno. I’ll never forget this experience and I hope I can come back some day. Already miss you, guys 💙 thanks for everything!
