We are a very popular Hostel located on Hvar island in Hvar town, just off the coast from Split. We have been open for 30 years and have a wide experience hosting people. We are recommended by travel guides and have fantastic reviews on other booking sites.

Luka the owner is very friendly and will go out of his way to accommodate you with all meals and wine/beer included. He was born and raised in Hvar and can provide you with a rich Croatian cultural experience. You will also have plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful beaches and soak up the beautiful sunshine!

It was my first volunteering experience and it turned out better than I expected! Korana was super kind and attentive, very patient with my English and very open to my contributions! Luca and Niki made me feel at home, always curious to learn about my culture and my country!
The tasks are simple and not heavy, and the organization of shifts depends on daily needs, so it varies.
The hostel is in a very good location with beautiful views! The room is small but it's shared only with staff. The kitchen is super complete!
I would recommend it and would definitely come back!

Korana was welcoming, open, and communicative. She was responsive to my needs and a good resource during my time volunteering. The amount of work varied from day to day with the bookings of the hostel, so don't expect a super consistent schedule. It was fun to meet the guests and volunteering here provided opportunities to make friends as a solo traveler.

Korana was welcoming and often cooked for us, asking if we needed anything from the market. However, the place was very messy when I arrived, and we never received a schedule in advance, making it hard to plan. We also had to remind her to give us days off. Although I was told I'd be free after 3 PM, I was put on afternoon shifts instead, which wasn't what I agreed to before getting there. The room had no lock, and Luka would walk in without knocking, which made us girls uncomfortable, especially cause sometimes we would be asleep, very inappropriate. she also asked me to leave earlier:/

I would 100% recommend this experience! As a first time volunteer I think this was the perfect place to introduce me to this kind of work. Korana was extremely welcoming and caring towards me and the other volunteer and made the place feel like a home away from home. The place as a whole is an extremely beautiful and fun place to stay with good nightlife. The only thing I was disappointed in was not getting one day off a week as promised. All in all I had the best time here and made memories that will last a lifetime! (Make sure to bring a good amount of money with you as Hvar is expensive).

Lukas Lodge was an amazing first Worldpackers experience! I worked every day for a few hours in reception checking guests in and out and explaining things to do on the island. I would also help out with the laundry and general cleaning. You have plenty of time to explore the island and relax at the beach. Thank you to Korana and Luka for being lovely hosts and giving me the opportunity to live in Hvar for the month.
