Mare Blu

Gioiosa Marea is one of Sicily’s hidden gems — a perfect blend of sea, nature, culture, and authentic Italian lifestyle. Workawayers who choose this destination will find a peaceful yet inspiring environment, ideal for anyone looking to slow down, connect with local traditions, and enjoy breathtaking landscapes.
My B&B offers a warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere where guests and volunteers quickly become part of the family. Located just minutes from the beach, it provides a relaxing home base surrounded by stunning sunsets, crystal-clear waters, and charming village life. Here, workawayers can enjoy comfortable accommodations, delicious homemade breakfasts, and the chance to learn about Sicilian culture, food, and daily life.
In exchange for their help, volunteers receive not only a cozy stay but also a true local experience — from exploring nearby nature trails and historical sites to enjoying the lively community events and the simple pleasures of coastal living.
Choosing Gioiosa Marea and my B&B means choosing authenticity, tranquility, and meaningful cultural exchange — a place where work feels light, friendships grow easily, and every day offers something special.

I’ve been a traveler since I was 18, and exploring the world has shaped who I am today. Over the years, I’ve learned to speak five languages fluently, which allows me to connect easily with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I’m also a musician and sound technician, passions that have taken me to many places and introduced me to incredible experiences and inspiring people.
I’m used to welcoming guests into my home, and creating a warm, friendly atmosphere comes naturally to me. I enjoy sharing stories, good music, and the simple pleasures of everyday life. I live with my small dog, Grace — a sweet and gentle companion who brings joy to everyone she meets.

My wife and I had a very good and peaceful experience during our volunteering. Our schedules were respected and we had great communication with Davide and Alen throughout the experience.
Davide is a very respectful, friendly and welcoming person. We spent very pleasant moments, had good conversations and we were able to share experiences.
We are very grateful for the opportunity and for the way we were received. It was a very positive experience and one that we will certainly carry with us.

An incredible experience! My husband and I were very well received, we worked helping at the reception and cleaning of the B&B, the schedules were respected, we practiced Italian a lot.
Davide, the host, in addition to helping us with the language, prepared very good meals, and on our days off we were able to visit many beautiful places in Sicily! (The train is very close and takes you to all the places)
The city is very nice and calm.
Alen, who helps Davide at the B&B, is very nice and will make the work even lighter.
I hope to return soon!
I recommend it to everyone

I had a really wonderful experience at the farm! The working hours were always respected, and the work was simple and also fun. I especially enjoyed meeting the guests, showing them the rooms, and welcoming them. In my free time there was plenty of space to relax, explore the area, or simply stay on the beach. A special thanks to Davide: he is a fantastic host, very kind, and always available. In addition, he cooks incredibly well and has always taken care of us! I absolutely recommend this experience! ❤️

I stayed at the farm in August, which in hindsight was not the best idea because it gets very hot in Sicily, and I always felt exhausted after working 😅 I loved working with Alen (a great employee who shows you everything!) + practicing my italian at dinner. The only thing that was a nuisance: I got a room downstairs - because I was the second volunteer which I completely understand - but that was not very private, as the bedroom door literally had no door handle and the bathroom was a connecting room that was used quite frequently. But if you stay upstairs, no problem! Thank you Davide!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I would like to clarify that the room provided to you could be locked securely from the inside, and at no point was your privacy violated.
I also made a particular effort to accommodate your dietary preferences by preparing vegetarian meals specifically for you during your stay. I believe this level of personal attention and consideration should also be taken into account.

If there were any concerns regarding your stay, I believe they would have been better

It was my first experience as a volunteer and it has been incredible!! Davide has been very kind, gentle, and polite. Always willing to make me feel comfortable and attentive to everything. His home has been like a second home. I also learned a lot about Sicilian culture. No doubt I would recommend it, and I would love to come back 😊
