My house is a very old house, it does not look sexy but many people, when they get in, feel something special...it is special, a 600 years old soul can only be special. I am 16 min from Biarritz airport, 10 min from the train station, 10 min from the ocean, with some of the best places to surf in Europe!! 1h away from the first ski resort in the Pyrenees, 30 min from the spanish border.
I will do all I can so that the volunteer will enjoy to stay here. I've been travelling myself quite a lot, I speak 4 languages fluently, 2 others on the learning curve. There is always an experience to share.

I'm really glad I decided to do this experience. I learned new practical skills through varied work such as removing concrete, polishing wood, collecting rocks, moving logs and cleaning. We worked around 5 hours a day, and although it could be tiring in the heat, the work was manageable. The food was generous and varied, and the home is a kind and fascinating person with many great stories. We enjoyed exploring the area, with easy access to Bidart by bike and nearby cities by bus. Overall, a memorable experience!

The home is an incredibly warm and welcoming person. We had a call beforehand to make sure we knew what to expect which was highly appreciated. The farm felt cosy and comfortable. The food she cooked was very delicious and always something to look forward to. The flexibility to eat out for dinner or cook in the kitchen was great depending on what we fancied. the home explained tasks very well, making us feel comfortable and regularly checked in to ensure we were okay, whilst also giving space to develop our skills. I thoroughly enjoyed my week with her, and I'd highly recommend the experience!

La experiencia con la casa y su proyecto fue increíble, la energía y ganas que le pone ella hacen que uno sienta las mismas ganas de contribuir y en el futuro ver el proyecto terminado. Las conversaciones que teníamos en cada como eran excelentes, aprendiamos un poco de todo, las diferencias culturales, tradiciones, y en especial sobre comida jeje, también sobre construcción y manualidades. Por último tanto la casa como los pueblos a su alrededor son una recarga de vida, las vistas, las montañas, playas y pasajes.

Este voluntariado ha sido una experiencia maravillosa! la casa es una anfitriona con una chispa y un amor contagioso por su proyecto. Disfruté de las actividades realizadas, del refugio que es Belhardía, del hermoso pueblo y sus alrededores; de las comidas compartidas, de las conversas sobre cultura, herbolaria, música y de la vida en general. Sin duda fue un proceso muy enriquecedor, respetuoso y amoroso del que me queda muchísima gratitud 💛

I had a great two weeks in the Basque Country staying at the home's house. The work and work hours were exactly as agreed upon, and the breakfast and lunch was yummy and wholesome - local and in season. After work and in the weekends I could use the bike to see many different places around the area, and otherwise I could chill at home and/or enjoy the home's company. She has lots of interesting things to tell and is very kind. She made sure I was at ease :) I especially enjoyed practicing French and learning a lot about Basque culture, history and more - great immersion. Also: cute dog
