The workpackers will come to quiet and peaceful place, which at the same time is not far away from more densely populated areas.
Get to experience close contact with both large and small animals.
I would like some help from the workpackers to do what is have to be done at the farm. Carpentry, painting, firewood cutting, daily feeding and care of animals etc.
Take care of my animals when I am away. I regularly travel away to visit people, hold courses about working horses and to hunt.
I am retired and live alone one a small farm. I do much of the work with horses, but have also a tractor I use.
On a farm there is always something to be done that I may need help with.
I have six horses on the farm. I own four of them myself, the other two are owned by someone who rents stables for them from me. I also have a hunting dog and two cats. Help to do what is have to be done at the farm. Whoever comes must be prepared for varied tasks. The needs will depend on the seasons, but it can for example be carpenting painting, firewood cutting and splitting, daily feeding and care of animals, mucking in stable and i paddocks gardening, maintaining fences for the horses, cleaning in my house.
I also want worldpackers that can take care of my animals when I am away. I regularly travel away (mostly on weekends) to visit people, hold courses about working horses and to hunt.
With me, the worldpackers will normally live in a separate apartment in a house on the farm close to the house I live in. As a host, I am flexible and open to finding solutions that take care of both myself and the workpackers. We can plan and agree along the way how things should be. When it comes to meals, for example, we can have some together and some individually.
I sometimes have two volunteers at the same time, although I consider that one would have been enough. I am so lucky that there are many who want to come here and it is nice to be able to give more people the opportunity, even though it can sometimes be difficult to find enough work tasks for them. It also seems that most who come ,find it nice to at least part of the time they are here can live with and get to know another volunteer.
NOTICE REGARDING VOLUNTEERING IN JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST
In the summer, the accommodation may be different than the rest of the year, because sometimes I rent out the apartment to tourists via Airbnb. The accommodation I offer to volunteers will then be in the house I normally stay in. In summer i "move out" and lives in a caravan next to my house
