About the experience in: Himarë, Albania

My experience at Esperia was really nice! I met incredible people along the way while working at the restaurant, alternating between mornings and evenings' shifts. Himarë has beautiful beaches and amazing scenery. If you prefer a livelier atmosphere, I recommend visiting during high season, as the town gets much quieter from mid-September onwards. The accommodation is simple but has its advantages, such as AC and a location right across from the beach. Sharing the space with several volunteers is something to keep in mind when deciding if this opportunity is the right fit for you.

Himarë is a beautiful place to volunteer, and the location of the accommodation & the hotel are perfect! I worked serving & bartending in the restaurant and I really enjoyed it. And the hotel guests are always very kind. It can be challenging sometimes when locals come in as some don't speak English so you have to get the owners, but it didn't bother me. Arta is one of the most hospitable, kind, helpful people I've ever met. I adore her. But to be honest, Bebi can be challenging to work with Overall I would recommend the experience but some things can get frustrating at times!

I loved this experience; it's so close to the beach, the work is very pleasant, the hours are respected and days off are very flexible. You can also meet more volunteers, and Arta is an incredible person, really hardworking, intelligent, approachable, and she speaks several languages. Her Spanish is perfect👌🏼 You have everything you need nearby since it's a small coastal town, but very lovely🥰

This was a volunteering experience where I truly felt at home! Arta is like a mother, and I was welcomed with open arms from day one. I learned things that I will take with me for the rest of my life. I hold a very special place in my heart for this place, and I hope to return someday. I had a great experience volunteering at the hotel. The location is beautiful, and I got to meet so many amazing people from all over the world — guests, staff and other volunteers. Arta's cooking was incredible and definitely one of the highlights of my time there! And a huge thankyou to Ivy for being so welcoming and kind from the beginning and putting up with me as a roomie. Grateful for the memories and the people I met during my stay ❤️
