SER FAUNA

We need your help to care for, feed, and promote the wellbeing of wildlife rescued from wildlife trafficking and urban accidents, while also growing fruits and vegetables in our agroecological garden to provide a balanced diet for each animal housed at the refuge.

We welcome you to undertake any kind of nature-focused project (talks, workshops, trainings, etc.).

We are a group of volunteers dedicated to the care and protection of wildlife, formed 14 years ago.

Our refuge has several projects:

We have many activities to develop, and you will learn many things about caring for animals and their nutrition, and your help will be very important. If you love animals, volunteering will undoubtedly be very exciting and rich in learning.

Our experience at the reserve was really incredible. Thank you very much to Daniela and the whole team for their trust and warmth. The work is mainly in the morning, with some occasional tasks in the afternoon. The main activities consist of preparing and distributing the food between 9 and 12. It is a project that we were very happy to devote our time to. After two weeks of volunteering, the animals began to recognize us, which makes the experience even more special and rewarding. A very enriching experience that we would not hesitate to recommend 🐵

Our experience at the reserve was beautiful 💚 We spent three very lovely weeks. Thanks to Daniela and the team for always being attentive and for the good vibes. We learned a lot about wild animals and you can feel the love with which they work. We collaborated by preparing diets, feeding, and providing enrichment for monkeys, foxes, coatis, hedgehogs, and an anteater, many rescued from illegal trafficking. We leave very satisfied with everything we lived through and we recommend it to anyone who wants to experience something that truly makes a difference.

I highly recommend staying at the reserve! A very quiet place with a well-equipped kitchen, ideal for having a social space with the other volunteers, making a bonfire or eating together, as well as heading to the center or sightseeing other beautiful places together! I really liked Santa Cruz. Getting around is easy. You just have to arrive with enough food for several days and not have to go out to buy groceries, also watch out for mosquitoes!

It was amazing to work for Daniella and the reserve team. They are very kind in teaching you the job and the tasks. They also have an incredible relationship with the animals and take care of them with a lot of affection, even though they have to keep them in cages due to the situation. I learned a lot about animal work, met a lot of amazing people, and had a very unique experience.

It was an incredible experience to learn about wildlife and to be part of a second chance for animals that have sadly suffered due to human irresponsibility. It is a space surrounded by nature, so you have to be mentally prepared for factors like heat and mosquitoes.
