Sítio Véi Chico
O Sítio Véi Chico is a family-run enterprise focused on Agroecology and Rural Tourism, located in the city of Uruçuca, in southern Bahia.
Surrounded by Atlantic Forest, the site brings with it an affectionate, intimate and welcoming environment that inspires the restoration of the connection with the environment through productive practices that not only respect nature and its biodiversity, but also seek to regenerate the ecosystem in which it is inserted.
As a way to popularize agroecological practices and as a support point for other people who are in the process of transitioning city-to-field, we decided to open the site's gates to volunteers.
The experiences aim to share knowledge through social interaction and participation in the activities carried out at the site, thus involving knowledge of permaculture, agroforestry, agroecology and also bioconstruction.

We are a good-humored and hospitable family. Volunteers are welcomed into this family environment... We have a cat named Pipoca and a few dogs outside the house. All very calm.

My experience at the farm was wonderful! I felt right at home and welcomed by Luciano and his mother Lúcia, kind hosts. Not to mention the other people with whom we shared the days… The accommodations are comfortable and the grounds are spectacular, I take it as an example for myself, as I also want to have a farm… Luciano was always willing to teach and answer my various questions haha. There I helped with eco bricks, in the preparations for the chocolate fair, I learned a lot about farming and I tasted new flavors. I also really liked that everyone pitched in at work… Much gratitude for the experience!

My experience was great. Lucinha and Luciano welcomed me very well and made me feel at ease. The tasks helping around the house, in the cocoa harvest, and at the factory were calm. We also went to the Sarau in Serra Grande to display the chocolates. I loved getting to know the sítio véi Chico, learning about the cabruca system and how the production of fine chocolate is done. Congratulations on the work and thank you for welcoming me to your home ❤️🙏

Ah, unfortunately we couldn\'t start this experience at the sítio, because Luciano had a health issue in the family and so we need to postpone this contact, which for me certainly will happen soon and with much pleasure. (= Note: I believe there was a failure on the Worldpackers platform because it was not possible to cancel the trip, but I contacted support and they updated this record by finalizing before the original departure date.

Vivi no sítio os melhores dias da minha vida, de verdade. O Luciano é muito responsável, pragmático e respeitoso. É um dos caras mais focados e inteligentes que eu já conheci. Tinha dias que me sentia um pouco sozinho, mas a Lucinha (mãe do Luciano) é muito receptiva, gosta de conversar e é muito cuidadosa. Também pude conhecer o pessoal da cidade e jogar vôlei. O lugar é lindo, um dos mais preservados do mundo, creio eu. Recomendo demais!
