The Bauhaus Hostel & Bar
Situated in a complex of six UNESCO World Heritage listed Brugean step-gable houses and surrounded by Bruges´ historical centre, The Bauhaus offers the best party atmosphere and beer selection of any Bruges hostel. With walking tours, bike tours and Belgian beer tastings on-site every day, there's always a great experience waiting for you in the bar - try some of our 60+ high quality Belgian beers and chat to our friendly international staff for some sightseeing recommendations and local tips!
We have a strong focus on atmosphere, fun and a positive work attitude. All of our staff love what they do and have fun doing it!
The hostel has a range of dorm sizes (4x 6x 8x 10x 12x 16x beds) and private rooms to suit all guest requirements.

The Bauhaus has a mixed staff of international and local people, something that brings a unique atmosphere to both the bar and hostel. We are a team who loves to have fun and always make an effort to ensure all of the staff get involved in the party.

My experience volunteering at the hostel was nothing short of amazing. The staff are welcoming, the tasks are easy & the environment is fun each day. Time flew by when I was there so I would recommend staying 3+ weeks. Bruges is a beautiful city & it's easy to learn the bus + rail system to get around. I hope to be back again soon! Thank you Chris + Steve for everything!

If you have the opportunity to experience this, don’t hesitate for a second! Two weeks felt extremely short for me. The hostel is an iconic place in Bruges, so you will have the chance to meet a lot of people from all over the world and experience an incredible atmosphere. The tasks are simple, the hours are good and the team is wonderful. Everyone makes you feel welcome and they are part of an experience you will remember with a lot of affection. And, of course, get ready to drink a lot of beer! 🍻 I’m leaving with great memories, new friendships and a strong desire to have stayed a little longer.

I had a very good experience. The team was very welcoming and friendly. I really enjoyed meeting other volunteers and people from different countries. Bruges is also a beautiful place to stay and a great starting point to explore Belgium and nearby countries. I would definitely recommend this experience and would be happy to return.
