Hi! My name is Carlos and I've been in the hospitality business nearly all of my life. I am a Filipino-American who was born in Virginia, raised all over the world due to my family being part of the diplomatic corps (an ambassador and diplomats) but finally settled down in New York where I lived for most of my life before deciding to move to the Philippines. My goal is to offer my guests a bespoke holiday experience that is intimately tailored to your/their needs. And since I only offer 4 rooms, I am able to provide all of my guests with a personal touch that is not found in most other accommodations; this is why my mantra for over a decade has been: Check-in as a guest, check-out as a friend. That's the very essence of the Stone Creek House experience. I treat my staff as a team and family; for we are nothing without each other and share a symbiotic relationship because of this. And as a volunteer you can expect to experience this too while working at my restaurant and staying at the hotel.

We had an incredible experience with Carlos and Mei. We learned to cook new dishes and tried incredible food! Our time together was truly enriching! We work serving Carlos and also some customers, and we help in the kitchen with Mei. We were lucky enough to be there and volunteer at Carlos' birthday, it was incredible. Carlos and Mei thank you for the time together.

My stay at Stone Creek was incredible with a lot of learning and AMAZING food made by Mei and Carlos. They are so kind and hospitable towards you during your stay, making sure you are comfortable and enjoying your time on the island. Romblon is beautiful with crystal clear water and stunning beaches. The work is light and enjoyable and consist of making sure glasses are full, interacting and taking orders from customers, helping out in the kitchen and cleaning. I really enjoyed my time spent at the restaurant, and feel very grateful for everything that I’ve learnt during my stay!

Carlos and Mei were instantly very welcoming! They helped us get settled in, in a beautiful room and showed us how to help out at the restaurant too! They immersed us in the local culture and were incredibly kind to take us to the beach for an amazing BBQ! We ate incredible food everyday, cooked by Carlos and Mei and on the odd occasion too had drinks, which was always a good laugh! Overall I had a brilliant time and would recommend this to anyone who’s staying in the Philippines!

Carlos was in great communication with us before we arrived in Romblon. He then came to meet us at the port. He introduced himself and purchased toiletries for us. He then showed us to our bedroom which was just as advertised. Comfortable queen bed, TV with working Netflix, fridge, kettle and western bathroom facilities. The room was just beautiful and quickly felt like home. We then had welcome drinks. We met Mai, Carlos’s girlfriend. We were given drinks and delicious home cooked food on the house. Since then 2 weeks past very quickly. Carlos and Mai are lovely generous people.
