Hi! My name is Carlos and I've been in the hospitality business nearly all of my life. I am a Filipino-American who was born in Virginia, raised all over the world due to my family being part of the diplomatic corps (an ambassador and diplomats) but finally settled down in New York where I lived for most of my life before deciding to move to the Philippines. My goal is to offer my guests a bespoke holiday experience that is intimately tailored to your/their needs. And since I only offer 4 rooms, I am able to provide all of my guests with a personal touch that is not found in most other accommodations; this is why my mantra for over a decade has been: Check-in as a guest, check-out as a friend. That's the very essence of the Stone Creek House experience. I treat my staff as a team and family; for we are nothing without each other and share a symbiotic relationship because of this. And as a volunteer you can expect to experience this too while working at my restaurant and staying at the hotel.

Honestly I cannot recomment this place more!! Mei is a dreaaam of a girl, she's so funny and smart and easy to work with. The work is easy and chill, nothing you haven't done before if you've worked as a waitress. The hours left me with kore than enough time to do my online work & go to the BEACH. Romblon is STUNNING and Mei make's sure that you're safe and and able to explore, this experience also allowed me to make friends with the locals. The accom was clean and beautiful! I loved this place so much I've decided to stay for longer than my original 2 weeks and I'm definitely going to be back

My experience volunteering in Romblon was amazing. Mei is an incredible woman from who I learned many things about Filipino culture and much more. I am forever grateful for this experience and definitely recommend. Beautiful island, beautiful people!

It was my first experience and it was amazing!!
I stayed 2 weeks and half and I learned a lot of things about local food, met some locals and foreigners that live in the island (very lovely people)....we cooked dishes from scratch, visited the market, I helped by hosting the guests at the hotel and learned about how is the management of the hotel, and really you need to think and provide a LOT of things when own a hotel. I was always a guest but this time I could be part of the staff and was perfect. Mei was very kind and helpful all the time. I will always be GRATEFUL for this experience =)

My experience at Stone Creek House was incredible. Mei was extremely welcoming and communicative, she makes you feel like family. My tasks were very reasonable, just a few hours a day, and working in the restaurant helped me get to know so many locals. The accommodation was clean and cozy, food provided was delicious, and Mei even helped me to get the most out of exploring the island. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe and taken care of. I cannot recommend this volunteer experience enough!

Unfortunately the experience wasn't what we expected at all. Neither the room we stayed in upon arrival, nor the restaurant we were supposed to work in have been cleaned at all in a looong time. We were really disappointed by Carlos' perception of women as well because it felt as if you'd traveled back in time to the 19th century. We didn't apply for being personal maids for Carlos and cook, clean and serve only him, that's why the job wasn't for us. Nevertheless, Mei was really lovely.

Hello Joanna. This is Mei. I'm sorry that you did not expected this to happen. At that time that you were staying in the executive room was because the Brazilian volunteers were still staying at the volunteer room. We were planning to move you guys there on the next day when they left... But you guys also left the very next day. It took me awhile to reply because I had to be with Carlos in the hospital but what you were saying about Carlos perception of women is just wrong. Carlos also washes the dishes when we don't have volunteers. I'm a little sad that you've said this. But thank you for your time trying to get to Romblon. Cheers.
