Sun Farm Hawaii

We are a community based environment (one big ohana). Our farm is located in a safe area and offers convenient access to public transportation with easy access to the beach, to the mountains, downtown, etc. Allowing volunteers to explore and appreciate the beauty of Hawaii during their free time. We provide food and we have a stable schedule in a safe environment.

We value and appreciate the work of our volunteers. We prioritize creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, making volunteers feel like part of our close-knit community.

We are a close-knit group, living in a close-knit environment. We share a lot, whether it's the outdoor shower or kitchen cooking space. We expect all volunteers to be gracious and work well in this community style environment. We respect all facets of beings, whether it's age, gender, race, etc. We respect your time, your personal space, and we work hard to maintain a healthy group dynamic.

Beautiful farm stay near Koko Head and Hanuma bay! This farm is located in an incredible spot in the farm Kai. While a vehicle is definitely recommended due to its remote feel, the public bus system is entirely doable. Marcos and team is super kind and very respectful to all. He also works with our schedule, if specific day-off needed. Volunteering at the farm really good for those who wants to connect with nature and also convenient to travel around. Waikiki beach is 1 hour in a bus ride. Overall, its an incredible experience at the farm.

My stay at the farm was absolutely amazing, and I recommend this place to everyone. I met great people and really liked the view from the farm. It can be remote without a car, but really, with some patience it is possible to go everywhere with the bus. The work is pretty easy, the only thing for me was to start at 7am, which is very early in my opinion. That being said, whenever I needed a specific day off to visit some place, Marcos always gave it to me, and everyone is pretty chill, which makes the shift pleasant.

I really enjoyed my time at the farm, it is such a beautiful and peaceful place. I got to meet other volunteers and explore with them which was great ! The work was as described and the living conditions too. Living on a farm is not for everyone as there are insects and noises but to me it was no problem. I had an amazing stay ! (It is best to have a car to explore the island but some places are still a walking distance from the farm or you can also take the bus) Thank you Marcos for the great experience at the farm ! I hope I will be able to come again :) Best, Jasmine

This was my first Worldpackers experience and my first time in the farm, and I'm really glad I chose SunFarm. Harvesting and learning about farm life was interesting and so fun, I learned a lot during my stay. Marcos is a very chill guy and the tasks are shared fairly between volunteers. I had no issues at all during my stay. I met great people and had a good time, I definitely recommend it. Just keep in mind that without a car it can be hard to get around, so you may rely on rides. Bring mosquito repellent and you'll have a good time ;)
