Terra del Congost
We are a small eco-tourism project designed with the intention of providing the experience of 'returning home'. For us, returning home means returning to the shelter of nature, to our roots, to the wild, to the simple.
Andreu and Amber fell in love in 2004 with this place isolated between mountains and unique for its energy, natural setting and panoramic views. For years of hard work they rebuilt some medieval ruins and abandoned dryland fields into a beautiful eco-camping. With the help of new partners, collaborators and volunteers we have equipped the camp with showers, a communal kitchen, services, living room and a Bar-Txiringuito.
Today we have 7 accommodations (houses, yurts, bungalows) and several camping areas. We offer a sustainable, conscious and ecological tourism service and we host occasional events such as yoga and meditation retreats, bioconstruction workshops, dance and music.
We remain in a growth phase, both in infrastructure and team and we are always open to sharing our space with people interested in contributing their grain of sand to the project.
We are surrounded by an unbeatable natural environment. The impressive Congost de Mont-Rebei is only 20 minutes away and there are numerous climbing areas, rivers and swamps nearby where you can bathe. If you come without a vehicle, we will do everything possible to enable you to make the essential visits to the area, accompanying you or lending you one so you can be autonomous!
Everyone who joins the project becomes another member of the family, which we like to call Tribe. We all have our own private space to enjoy calm and tranquility, but we like to share the midday meal and some leisure activities (go to the river, make music, do paddlesurf...).
Volunteers have their own caravan, with a kitchen, fridge and private plot. We normally also have a van that they can use to run errands or go explore the area.
The typical exchange is 5 hours a day, from 9am to 2pm, Monday to Friday.
All meals are covered, although breakfast and dinner are normally not eaten together (volunteers have access to a pantry to cook in their caravan or in the communal kitchen).
At the moment the main tasks we need to cover with volunteers are the construction of new accommodations (mainly with wood), reconstruction of dry stone walls, gardening and decoration. We could also require help cleaning common areas or attending guests at reception or the bar.
Skills in carpentry, electricity, plumbing and construction will be especially valued. If you have other skills or knowledge that you think may be useful for the project (photography and video, social media, crafts...) we would be delighted if you propose them to us!
