My stay at seaside was good. I mainly worked in reception and it was fun getting to meet travelers from all over. Zain is nice and works with the volunteers to have a good stay. I would definitely volunteer here again!

I had such an amazing time volunteering at the beach hostel and staying at seaside! The other volunteers truly made my experience so much fun! Upon arrival I wasn’t really shown or told anything, but after a few days I just got the hang of the place. The location is really nice so close to everything. Zain was always easy to reach if I had any questions, and the staff working was always super friendly to work with! Thanks for everything!

Pros: access to 3 hostel common areas & all in good/safe locations, structured scheduling, free tours on standby, work is not necessarily difficult (rather long hours on your feet so expect to work hard!), if you have any concerns Zain is helpful, we lived seperate from guests
Cons: I thought the 24 hr weeks were fine but the 32 hr were stressful, no staff events

Overall, I loved exploring O’ahu & this was a good way to save money doing so. Grateful for the opp!

This was an amazing way for me to be able to explore and live in Hawaii on a bit of a budget. The living arrangement is really great and gives you lots of space. The host, Zain, is very kind and tries his best to make the experience as perfect as possible. There are three different hostels that you could be assigned to so make sure you’re aware of which one you’re meant to be in before arriving at the wrong one! Additionally I do wish there was more social activities for the volunteers from all the hostels to get to know each other. Overall a great experience.

This was my first volunteering experience and I couldn’t be more grateful. The tasks were easy and the working atmosphere with staff members and guests was great – relaxed and always friendly, even on the busier days. It is easy to communicate any problems you may have, with the team. I had enough time to explore the island on my days off whether it was alone, with other volunteers or guests. Meeting people is easy at the hostel and I got to meet some of the loveliest people I know! Even though the island is truly beautiful, it was mostly the other volunteers, that made my stay so special!
