This was the best hostel I have ever stayed in! I'm still living at the hostel even after my volunteering dates because of the amazing community we have here at the hostel. There are a lot of people staying long term, so you really build that friendship and a sense of community. The kitchen here is very nice. They have a lot of tools and items like hand blender, air fryer, etc that other hostels normally don't carry. There are a lot of free food like seasonings, rice, oats, sauces, etc. I highly recommend this hostel to everyone! Manager ash is awesome and she even helped me with my resume:)

I had a great time working at this hostel. I really enjoyed the work and got along wonderfully with the other staff and volunteers, and there was a lovely sense of community. It's a very cozy hostel, and I'd happily recommend it, whether as a guest or as a volunteer.

I wasnt given enough shifts to cover my stay. I stayed there 6 weeks and the first 4 I asked again and again if there were going to be more shifts for me and nothing materialized. On my 5th week, they told me my dept with them had grown large even though id done all the shifts they'd given me.They asked me to do night shifts and made extra shifts for me to bring down my dept even though I was initially told id only be doing event shifts. I did the math, they credit volunteer shifts at only $20/hour and they never had enough event shifts for me in the first place.I felt like I was being scammed

The team here at the hostel are the most welcoming, friendly, and helpful bunch. I felt really looked after while staying here, both from the staff and the other volunteers that are carefully vetted by them. I only have great things to say and would absolutely volunteer again.
