In 2022, Topside Inn was named #1 "small stay" in the United States, and #7 in the world by TripAdvisor. We offer our guests a beautiful setting with great service. We encourage our staff to have fun, but that our guest’s experience is all of our top priority. If we are enjoying ourselves it shows and helps our guests to relax and be more engaging. We are in a beautiful location and make sure we appreciate it every day. In addition to help running the inn, volunteers can may also have the opportunity to help with our gardens and chicken coop.

Our staff is part of our family. We eat together, work together, enjoy a night on the town as a group. We do ask that our staff work hard, with us by their side, but we also make sure our staff is well cared for and have a good time.

Absolutely recommend this experience! Mark, Buzz, Leanne, Rebecca, Liam and everyone there were the nicest people in the world! No lunch was provided, but we got paid so it worked. We get breakfast every morning and the food is out of this world! The work is suuuper chill, only 3 hours a day and you have your agreed upon days off. I do have to stay that the place where we stayed isn’t luxurious at all, a bit dirty and with a good amount of bugs, but besides that the experience was amazing!! Boothbay is a beautiful and safe place and Topside is 10/10. Already miss this experience!

Buzz, Mark, Rebekah, and JP are wonderful people. I enjoyed getting to know them, meeting the staff from overseas, and working alongside everyone everyday. Also breakfast was always so delicious!

There were only two unexpected parts during my stay. The staff housing needed to be renovated and I ended up working on the housekeeping team more than I originally intended out of necessity. I thought I was mainly going to be part of the kitchen staff instead. Even with those few hiccups, it was an overall really great experience and I loved exploring, traveling, and meeting new people in Maine.

The weeks I spent at the Topside Inn were a very good experience. Everyone is very nice, polite and thoughtful. They did what was agreed and they always try to make you feel better. They care if you're enjoying the experience. The place as a whole is very beautiful, as is the city. I really have nothing to criticize.
It was an excellent option and I strongly recommend anyone looking for a nice and safe place to choose this excellent team.

Minha experiência no Topside Inn foi incrível. A equipe disponibiliza um lugar confortável para ficar, um ótimo café da manhã e outras refeições. O trabalho não é fácil, mas bem organizado você finaliza o seu dia antes. No começo algumas regras e orientações não estavam claras. Falamos com a gerente e tudo foi resolvido. O ambiente te possibilita fazer amigos de vários lugares do mundo. A cidade é pequena, porém muito agradável. Foi uma experiência inesquecível. Obrigada equipe do Topside e todos os amigos que fiz!

The entire team is very nice, always helpful, if you need anything you can always count on them.
We had an amazing lobster diner all together. It was so fun and the food was amazing. Thank you so much for this experience.
The job is hard (not that the tasks are difficult to understand but it is very demanding). I needed at least a week to accommodate myself to the schedule and be able to fully enjoy Boothbay Harbor.
All in all, it was an enriching experience.
