Utopia
You can expect a good accommodation with a nice pool. We are a motivated team that are used to work with volunteers. Usually there are ~8 volunteers from different parts of the world.
You have 3 beaches (Arrifana, Monte Clerigo and Amoreira) 5 minutes by car and beautiful sight seeing, amazing hikes. If you like outdoor activities you have a lot to discover.
The weather is sunny and warm. In the winter it gets cold at night but as the sun comes out the temperature goes up and you feel like you were in spring. There are beautiful are great sceneries and a lot of outdoor activities for you to enjoy (surf, hiking, beach, fishing).
The Southwest of Portugal is one of the most hidden secrets of Europe. Or maybe not...come and discover by yourself!

Our team is made up of 7 people that choose to live in the south of Portugal to have time for themselves, work hard whilst having fun at the same time and have a huge motivation to enjoy life. We have worked with volunteers for more than 10 years and have had a total of more than 300 volunteers. We know how to take care of you and organize tasks. We need help in housekeeping and during the breakfast buffet that is served to the guests. In winter we also do a lot of maintenance work and sometimes some gardening tasks. Expect to have a lot of free time but also to have to work hard. We believe that we are very open and establish a close relationship. We are open to improve and change procedures as far a balance is achieved. I am 54 years old and left Lisbon to Aljezur 31 years a go....Why? I spent my vacations here and love to surf around here. Follow the dream! The staff is young people from 26 to 35 years old from different countries, different vibes. All are following the dream. Welcome to Utopia!

Utopia is a great place. The work is fair, times were respected and the staff is really friendly! The volunteers have their own area with kitchen and rooms that you need to maintain yourselves, which is really nice if everyone agrees to keep it clean. The location is amazing, very close to the beach. There are a couple of surfboards to use but the wetsuits i would not recommend, they are falling apart and dont keep you warm. The fact that we have a car to use is super nice! I had a great time, met lovely people and surfed some good waves. Thankyou 🫡🐕

Fue una muy buena experiencia, se respetaron los horarios de trabajo y el área de voluntarios cumplía con todo lo necesario. Lo único negativo fue que los neoprenos estaban viejos con agujeros. Por lo demás, Aljezur es un pueblo precioso con playas ideales para practicar surf. Además, el equipo de voluntarios y el staff hace que la estancia sea como estar en casa <3

Utopia é um lugar incrível, não só pela localização mas pelas pessoas que o fazem.
Pude vivenciar uma das melhores viagens da minha vida até o momento, fiz amizades com pessoas de vários lugares do mundo e tive uma vivência local no Algarve. Todas as tarefas são bem simples, explicadas e as horas são respeitadas. Temos apoio da equipe do hostel para qualquer dúvida, sempre foram muito solícitos. As instalações não são luxuosas mas cumprem o combinado e são mantidas pelos próprios voluntários. Como Aljezur é uma cidade de montanhas o anfitrião deixa um carro pra os voluntários utilizarem.

Utopia is such a good place to volunteer at! Its a beautiful guest house and I had so much fun staying here. The cleaning ladies are so nice and the work is very easy. It is perfect for people that want to learn how to surf and the fact that you have a car to share helps a lot. The only thing that you have to be aware of is that there is not a lot of surfboard and wet suits so you are going to have to share them with the other volunteers.

Utopia was my first volunteer job on WP and I am deeply grateful, because it was the perfect choice for me. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and I left this place with so many good memories. Such an amazing experience. Met some inspiring people, with good energy and made some beautiful friendships. There is a cat (Tofu) and a sweet dog (Bolinha). There is a rusty car to use, to go to the beach, surfboards and wetsuits. But I will highly recommend bringing your own wetsuit, since the ones they have are old and broken. If this is your first experience, then this is the right place for you!
