Wanderfalls Guesthouse & Hostel

We are located near a natural world wonder, Niagara Falls. We host visitors from all over the world in a small, friendly home environment. Our volunteers will get experience in the hospitality and customer service while meeting new people.

Wanderfalls is a small home hostel. In addition, we have 2 other houses in the same neighborhood that we rent out as whole house vacation rentals. We, the owners Andre and Carroll, manage the houses with the help of small group of volunteers.

The hosts were incredible! Always friendly, flexible, caring and suggesting things to do, trails to hike etc. It is a place to relax, meditate and get in touch with nature. The work is easy, the hours are reasonable and somewhat flexible. Most volunteers will be alone at the hostel, so it's an opportunity for those who like to be in a peaceful environment. There isn't much to do in the city other than nature walks and trails, watching fireworks at night and visiting the falls. The falls are 15-20 min walking distance so you could visit it every day of your stay. It was my favorite place so far

This was my first Worldpackers activity.
Its strengths were
- The Niagara Falls are a stone’s throw away
- Enough free time (cleaning takes 3/4 hours per day)
- The chance to visit the closest cities during days off such as Buffalo / Toronto
- The owners, Andre and Carroll are the sweetest
However do not expect the city to be touristic/welcoming or full of young people. Part of the city is semi-abandoned so I recommend it to those who seek peace and quiet places.
Ask in advance if you’ll be alone working to be prepared :)

Carroll and Andre are very nice people! I had a beautiful experience in their little guesthouse. They made sure I settled in okay and had everything I needed. First the work may seem overwhelming but after few days you pick up the pace and you basically finish working in 3/4 hours. The work contains some cleaning, making beds and some extra projects like painting or weeding. The waterfalls are breathtaking but the town itself is not that exciting. You’ll be pretty close to Canada though and can plan a short trip in Toronto or Vancouver. Overall I had 100% positive experience in Wanderfalls!

The Hosts are both great. They are sociable, comprehensive and caring. The workload is fair, and the place is located in a very convenient place in the city, with the bike they lend to volunteers you can visit many cool places around.
