YHA London Thameside

Our hostel is located in a quiet, residential area, 20mins away from the busy city. You will get involved in the real London life, located 2mins by the river and with a beautiful view to London.

The volunteers will be treated with kindness and respect. We all work as a team, no matter of age, gender or nationality. Our team comes from all around the world and speak different languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Turkish and Indonesian)

I recommend the experience. The facilities are great, the location is very convenient, and the surrounding area is beautiful for walks, with easy access to central the hostel. The work itself is straightforward, but you need to be adaptable and proactive in the kitchen, as most of the workflow is learned on the job. On busier days, there can be little room for mistakes, so being able to learn quickly and work independently is important. Amine does a great job managing the volunteers, and it was a real pleasure getting to know her and the other volunteers I worked with.

This was my first volunteering experience, and I would definitely do it again!🩷 Amine is the nicest person and was always very caring towards the volunteers. The majority of the staff was also really kind. The hostel is in great condition and well connected by public transport. The volunteer group was amazing, and it's a great place to meet people from all over the world. The only downside was that some interactions with the kitchen staff were not always very welcoming towards volunteers. I would definitely recommend volunteering at the hostel!

It was my first experience as a volunteer and I had the best time. The place's great, we have a volunteers only bedroom, can use the laundry and the guest kitchen. The breakfast's great with a lot of options. The tasks are really what you expect them to be, housekeeping (only do the beds), helping at breakfast/dinner (serving and cleaning - may take u some time to understand how it works but you'll get there). Amine's the nicest person and really helps you with whatever you need. You get a lot of time to explore. I made great friends and am already missing everything! hope to come back someday

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel! I met a lot of really nice people and had a great experience overall. Amine, our manager, is the nicest person. She was always there if we needed anything, which made a big difference. The work can sometimes be quite hard, and you might have to deal with some difficult personalities, so it's definitely something to keep in mind. But anyways, it's a really good opportunity to spend some time in the hostel and meet new people. A big thank you to Amine and Gissela for all the support and for making my time there a really memorable experience ❤️

I have nothing to complain about regarding my experience at the hostel. I had fun while I was contributing, I had great moments hanging out with other volunteers, and I could experience the UK/the hostel better during my free time or days off, because they organize shifts with our well-being in mind. To sum up, my volunteering experience was awesome and I'd recommend it to anyone who's open to learning and improving themselves.
