Yungaburra Accommodation

Gain hands-on experience with native tropical plants and learn how a small accommodation business operates.

Discover the Atherton Tablelands with local knowledge of its history, wildlife, rainforests, waterfalls, and crater lakes. A paradise for nature lovers and birdwatchers — with chances to see tree kangaroos, cassowaries, platypus, and more.

We’re a small, friendly team who love our home, nature, and sharing the beauty of Yungaburra with visitors. You’ll live and work alongside me and my housekeeper/receptionist in a relaxed, respectful environment.

We value kindness, teamwork, and open communication, and aim for volunteers to feel at home, gain new skills, enjoy the wildlife and surroundings, and leave with great memories.

Yungaburra is such a peaceful town filled with beautiful nature spots and kind locals. Highly recommend visiting Yungaburra and staying with Gina. Gina was an amazing host and made us feel very welcome. She was so kind to drive us to the nearby waterfalls and attractions on our days off. The work is very fair and the schedule is flexible. As long as you work hard and show that you are there to help, you will have an amazing time!

Yungaburra is a small town full of life! Gina is deeply passionate about her historic town. There are beautiful sites that are great for exploring. She was flexible with our schedules and provided above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay. That being said, plan to work hard to earn her trust. We had many long days and conversations to ensure we were meeting her expectations. We mostly completed outdoor work or painting when the weather was agreeable. Gina is the heart of Yungaburra and it would be a shame to miss an opportunity see what this place has to offer.

I loved my stay in Yungabarra! Gina was very welcoming and ensured I had everything I could need for a lovely stay. The tasks varied so for example, it was sunny when I was there so I mostly painted outdoors. The hours are fair and flexible if you end up doing more on one day. Gina is quite particular - so be prepared to work hard. The community in Yungabarra is amazing and I was even invited to a family party when I was there! I had plenty to do in the area on my time off, and Carolina and Gina were happy to drive me when it suited.

Had the best time with Gina and Carolina. Gina would arrange the tasks and made sure my stay is comfortable. She is knowledgeable about her plants. I did weeding, sanding and painting. Yungaburra is a small pretty town with attractions nearby. The locals are friendly. Definitely a good place to volunteer.
