It was an amazing opportunity to work with horses as a beginner. You get to learn so much about them. The work is not too hard and it usually takes less than 5 hours a day. I met many volunteers from all over the world. Additionally, I learnt a lot about the English culture. Overall, Terri and Andy took very well care of us all :)

Unforgettable chapter! i was never around horses before and this was such a learning experience for me. i especially loved to brush the horses :) many beautiful and friendly cats&dogs in the house. Terri, Andy and the family are all lovely and you can tell how much they care for their animals. I enjoyed chatting and getting to know the english culture more. i am also vegetarian and Andy always made sure i had something to eat, which i appreciated a lot. much nature around, a river, farms and nearby cities to explore. i felt really nice staying here, i recommend it to any animal lover🥰

Couldn't have asked for a better 1st experience. Terri and Andy immediately made me feel welcome. Spending time with the cats, dogs, and horses was genuinely healing. The work consists of a longer stint in the morning, followed by a short one in the afternoon, leaving plenty of time inbetween for study/work/countryside walks. You'll mainly focus on feeds and field/stable maintenance but there's plenty of opportunity for handling and grooming the horses too. Wonderful dinners…there's always an almost dangerous amount of cake! I left with a full heart and fuller stomach.

My volunteering experience at the home was my first volunteering experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Terri and Andi are kind, thoughtful, and welcoming, and they truly deliver everything they promise in terms of the work, accommodation, and meals. The work mainly involves feeding and watering the horses and cleaning the fields and stables. They are always happy to teach and explain things, so I found the work very enjoyable and easy to settle into. Overall, it was truly an amazing experience. I felt at home from the beginning and would love to come back one day.

My stay at the home was truly unforgettable. From the very first day, Terri, Andy and the whole family made me feel welcome and right at home. Working with the horses was a very rewarding experience, and I loved that every day gave me the chance to learn something new. The work was very enjoyable, and the setting was beautiful and I'll always be grateful for everyone's kindness and patience, including Joey and Katy. I'd recommend this experience without hesitation to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable volunteering opportunity.

My time at the home was so lovely! It was my first time working so closely with horses, and i would do it again in a heartbeat. The work itself personally felt very rewarding while also being fun. Some days are more physically demanding than others, but nothing too strenuous. The horses on the farm are so special, and i’ll miss them dearly. Special thanks to Terri, Andy, and the rest of the fam (dogs n cats included) for making my stay feel homey. And a special thanks to Katie & Joy for being so welcoming and empowering with their kindness and education along the way💛🐎

My experience at the home was the best of my five trips to Montaigne, England. Terri and Andy made me feel instantly welcome. I felt very comfortable there, and they became like a second home to me. The work is a lot of fun. I can highly recommend this experience! It's truly wonderful.!

My experience was wonderful!

Terri and Andy are amazing, friendly, and very kind. They make you feel at home. Dinner is incredible, something different every day. I really enjoyed it. Working with the horses is moderately physically demanding, nothing too strenuous. It's divided into two parts, the longer one in the morning. The farm surroundings are beautiful; I enjoyed walking a lot and also visiting the surrounding villages and towns like Ludlow, Shrewsbury, and Church Stretton. I highly recommend a stay here.

It was my first experience with Worldpackers and I honestly couldn't have chosen a better place. It's a stable surrounded by beautiful green countryside, run by incredibly kind and welcoming people. Terri and Andy are amazing, always ready to help and make sure you have a great experience in the English countryside. I felt at home even though I was far from home, and I'd happily go back anytime. 😊

Andy and Terri are wonderful and made us feel welcomed from day one. Such a great time during dinner with all the meaningful talks! It felt like home. We'll miss you, Gloria!!! The hours and days off were always respected. The work focuses mainly on stable cleaning — sometimes physically demanding, but manageable within the schedule. The stay is quite independent (work, eat, rest), so it's more about routine and cultural immersion than social or group activities. Getting to know each horse's personality (and all the sweet cats and dogs!) was a highlight. A meaningful chapter for us 🤍
