The Experience
We run a busy friendly equine training and livery yard based in the beautiful Shropshire hills. We require someone to muck in and muck out 😀 A huge variety of horses from serious competition horses who show jump, event and do pure dressage to youngsters and happy hackers. We do require a little experience but are happy to teach anyone wanting to expand their knowledge and expertise.

Volunteering at the home was an amazing experience. Terri and Andy make you feel like family, and all meals are provided. The dinners are especially lovely—delicious and shared in a warm atmosphere. The horses are incredibly sweet, and the people you work with are just as kind. I'm so grateful for this experience and for the care and generosity of this wonderful family. From the moment we arrived we felt like family, Terri welcomed us with a hug and Andy with a spectacular meal. The family was very warm and always worried about our well-being. Craven Arms is very small, there is a large supermarket and a block with some shops, but you can take the bus to other nearby towns such as Shrewsbury (the famous 435) for 3 pounds or the train for 7 pounds. We had an enriching and unforgettable experience. Recommended if you like nature and animals. Don't worry if your English is not perfect. Thank you for everything Terri and Andy.

As for the house, it complies with what was agreed upon: 3 delicious homemade meals a day, private pizza and two bathrooms with a shower. Terri and Andy were always excellent and provided us with the comfort and amenities necessary to have a beautiful stay. The work in general is simple and easy to learn. In my particular case, I didn't know much English and it was easy for me and I was able to do it in the best way because the tasks are simple and repetitive. My experience was excellent. I am a fan of horses and this experience allowed me to get to know them and connect in a different way.

I had a really good experience! Terri was very patient in explaining things and understanding with the language, which helped a lot. Andy is amazing and always prepared delicious dinners. It was so special to spend this time here, especially during Christmas. And the animals – the horses, cats, and dogs – are all so lovely. I'm going to miss it!
