The work at here matched expectations: cleaning, maintenance, and meal prep. The team was supportive and collaborative. We worked well together and created a great atmosphere. However, the owner made the experience difficult. He often spoke to staff disrespectfully and created a tense, uncomfortable environment where everyone felt constantly watched and judged. It became stressful to work under those conditions, and despite the strong team, it was unsustainable. As a result, we all chose to leave early.

Mi experiencia personal fue muy buena, conocí personas increíbles y muy buenos amigos, lo mejor fue el grupo con el que trabajamos. Las tareas no son difíciles y se explican como hacerlas al empezar el voluntariado y en el caso de tener dudas o algún problema, Maui esta muy dispuesto a ayudar en lo que uno necesite. Hay problemas con el tema de gerencia y gestión del hostal, pero yo tuve una muy buena experiencia mas que nada por los otros voluntarios y el staff que estaba en el momento en que fui

El voluntariado cumplía con lo acordado en Worldpackers (surf, desayunos y cenas incluidos), lo cual fue positivo. Sin embargo, mi experiencia se vio afectada por la actitud del anfitrión. Se percibía un ambiente de estrés constante y un trato poco adecuado hacia el staff, que terminó renunciando en su totalidad de un día para el otro. Ante esta situación, los voluntarios nos sentimos incómodos y decidimos irnos antes de finalizar el voluntariado (todos). Considero importante que el ambiente laboral y el trato humano estén alineados con lo que se espera de este tipo de experiencias.
