The Experience

We welcome volunteers who enjoy teaching conversational English and sharing ideas with the local community. Volunteers support community-based education and tourism by assisting with simple English classes for children or youth, informal learning sessions, and cultural exchange activities. They may also share ideas to improve visitor experiences and responsible community-based tourism. Daily activities are light, flexible, and collaborative.

I came back to volunteer for a second time. What more can I say? The movement is admirable! I really enjoyed being immersed in the local culture, and the slow village lifestyle. I met so many people who changed my life. I enjoyed teaching and playing with the children, it is great knowing you are having an impact and improving the future of the children. I wish I could have contributed more, but fell sick. I am thankful for the team (shout to Abril, Abril's Mom, Galih, and Yoan for being amazing!) + for their support, care, and understanding when I wasn't able to contribute as much as I wish.

Had such a good experience with the project team, the whole team is so incredibly welcoming and so fun to be around. The diversity in schools is so fun, so many opportunities to teach children of different ages. The kids are so kind too, they all paay so much attention when teaching, its really nice to see. The team has such a good goal, which i hope they can achieve. 1000% would recommend!

Exp changed my life. Yoan + team did more than I could ask to make me comfortable. Village life is fun, ppl are very warm. I loved playing w children and staying w Abril's family, it became my home. His mom is very sweet + humble, loved spending time, teaching her English, laughing over terlalu sulit. Every exp/convo w Abril helped me grow. I loved the beautiful places Abril took me: Cianten village, hiking, curug + more! The nature, movement, culture + love are awe-inspiring. I'll miss my found family + their deep love. the project's goal is admirable. I hope they succeed. If can should support.

This was my first volunteering experience and I can say it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The host and the people in the village were incredibly kind and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. Village life is not something I'm used to but it was definitely worth experiencing. I loved all the activities we did together with the host, from hiking to waterfalls to visiting other villages and making tea from scratch. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, treating us like special guests. I hope to come back again and meet the people of the village in the future.

It couldn't be better for a first experience. The village is authentic just like the people living in it. I had a private room in a great family that made me feel home during my 2 weeks stay. I teached 3 to 4 hours a day in secondary school and in high school, the kids were great, very polite and eager to learn. They were very happy to learn, and it felt like I was making a significant impact in their lives. So I was really happy teaching them. The area is very beautiful, green everywhere, many rice fields, pepper, bananas, tea. The community was very welcoming. I really hope to come back.
