I had such an incredible time volunteering at the hostel. I can't believe how quickly 4 weeks flew by. Rene runs an amazing team and creates a great environment at the hostel. There were many volunteers and we created unforgettable bonds that I will deeply miss. The environment is very chill and relaxed and the shifts at the bar and reception are not difficult. I practiced a ton of Spanish while at the hostel and even took classes with Erika at the hostel. This was a great experience and I definitely recommend!

the workers and volunteers here are so sweet which truely makes the experience so amazing. they will never ask for extra work from you, they always make sure it’s a fair exchange. there’s activities everyday so that makes it fun when you’re there long term. the onlyyy thing is there isn’t too much to do in oaxaca, but you can take weekend trips to mazunte, puerto escondido, san jose del pacĂfico or other cities so you get multiple trips in one. definitely recommend🫶

My time at the hostel in Oaxaca was truly unforgettable and I couldn't recommend it more! The hostel itself has everything you could possibly need, including a fantastic swimming pool. The work is very simple and stress-free, and the boss is one of the kindest, most helpful people I've met. The location is right in the center and close to everything. What really made the experience special, though, were the people… I met so many wonderful souls during my stay. If you're looking for a great community and a beautiful place to stay in Mexico, this is it!

The hostel was an absolute blast!!! It felt like a family from week 1 and there was never a dull moment. Hours are super chill, bar is great, and super central location to everything you could need. Rene is fantastic and super accommodating, as is the rest of the staff and volunteers! Would love love love to come back some day <3

Volunteering at Ticuchi Hostel in Oaxaca through Worldpackers has been one of the best experiences of my life. From day one, I felt like part of a family. I absolutely LOVED my time at the hostel. From the very first moment I arrived at the hostel, Rene & all the other volunteers were so kind and welcoming and make sure you have everything you need. It really is a family here & I can't express how much of a fun, welcoming place Rene has created ❤️ As for the work, it's exactly as described and Rene takes everything into consideration for the weekly schedule. If you are thinking about volunteering in Oaxaca, the hostel is the best place to be! I even extended my stay (as have many other volunteers) because it's just such a fun place to be!
