Activities & Shift
Help guests connect, make friends and enjoy their Melbourne adventure! You’ll bring energy to hostel life by encouraging guests to join activities such as:
Movie nights: Set up the movie, prepare popcorn and snacks, get everyone settled in and help pack down afterwards.
Waffle mornings: Prepare toppings, make and serve waffles, and bring guests together over a relaxed breakfast.
Trivia nights: Help host trivia in our bar, encourage guests to form teams and prepare pens, scorecards and other essentials.
Yoga and meditation: Lead relaxed, beginner-friendly sessions in a nearby park when the weather allows. Previous experience is desirable for anyone leading these activities.
Melbourne walking tours: Gather interested guests, walk them to the starting point of a local free walking tour and welcome them back afterwards with a complimentary drink in our bar. You won’t need to stay for the tour.
Seasonal celebrations: Help bring larger events to life, including Halloween, New Year’s Eve, national holidays and other special occasions.
You’ll also help build excitement through the hostel group chat, sharing invitations and reminders before activities, plus photos, reels and videos during and afterwards. You’ll have access to our social media accounts to share regular posts, so basic photo and video editing skills are a bonus.
Bring a welcoming attitude, include guests who are travelling solo and help everyone feel part of the hostel community.
