We are James and Sarah, with a large family of 4 horses, 6 dogs, (at least) one cat, 15 chickens, and 2 dwarf goats. Accommodation is a large caravan, converted into a modern studio (maximum 2 people), next to the house plus all meals in exchange for 5 hrs a day over 5 days or 4 hrs over 6 days. We're flexible for the right people! Please note that volunteers MUST be able to understand/speak English. More than anything, this is for safety.

We had the most amazing time here! The tasks were simple and easy and allowed us lots of time during the day to relax and soak up the peaceful surroundings. We loved the animals and miss them all. James and Sarah were very accommodating, we had access to their car a gorgeous cosy well equipped caravan and delicious food throughout our stay! Thank you so much

We spent a month with Sarah and James and had a nice experience. The place is surrounded by nature, and we really enjoyed spending time with the animals. Their dogs are incredibly sweet and we absolutely loved them! We also enjoyed helping with the horses. The work included taking care of the animals, painting and helping around the property. The schedule was clear and we always had our days off to explore the area and work on our own projects. We're grateful for the time we spent there and the opportunity to experience a quieter side of Portugal. We wish Sarah and James all the best!

We had a positive experience during our stay. We enjoyed taking care of the horses and dogs, as well as helping with other tasks such as painting, working in the vegetable garden, and tidying up the front of the house. The tasks were varied and straightforward, and overall we enjoyed our time there and are grateful for the experience. Thank you, Sarah and James, for having us!
