Program Details

Luce sul Lago is a non-profit association and glamping retreat nestled in the Castelli Romani regional park near Nemi. We offer a space for guests to slow down, disconnect, and reconnect with nature. Because we recently welcomed a new baby, we are seeking an independent individual or couple to take over site management for 1 to 2 weeks.

What You Will Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)
Guest Relations: Handle smooth check-ins and ensure guests have everything they need during their stay.

Site Maintenance & Upkeep: Perform daily cleaning of the glamping facilities and general property upkeep.

Gardening: Tend to the surrounding outdoor green spaces and gardens.

Animal Care: Feed and care for our resident chickens.

Equipment Care: Maintain and handle basic repairs for the association's bicycles used by guests.

What We Are Looking For
Self-Sufficiency: The glamping site is set right in the woods, located about 1.3 km from the town. You will frequently be on your own.

Comfort with Solitude: Because of the secluded and tranquil nature of the property, being completely comfortable with independence and solitude is essential.

Reliability & Adaptability: A proactive, hands-on approach to daily homestead and hospitality tasks.

If you are looking for a meaningful, slow-living experience in nature and want to support a grassroots community project near Rome, we would love to hear from you!

Activities & Shift

We expect a proactive "ownership" mindset. Since hospitality follows the needs of the guests and the land, your schedule will be flexible but requires consistency:

Hospitality: Welcoming guests, showing them their glamping tents, and sharing local tips about Lake Nemi and the surrounding trails.

Housekeeping: Ensuring the glamping units and common areas are pristine for every new arrival.

Maintenance & Gardening: General gardening, watering plants, cleaning the chicken house, and handling basic repairs—especially keeping our guest bicycles in top shape.

Shifts: Approximately 25 hours per week, spread over 5 days. You will have 2 days off to explore the lake or relax, with occasional flexibility required if a guest needs assistance.

Rules

To ensure a harmonious stay in the forest, we ask for the following:

Independence is Key: You must be completely comfortable staying alone in the woods (1.3 km from town). If you are uneasy with the dark or the quiet solitude of the forest, this is not the right fit!

Accountability: We are trusting you with our home and business during a sensitive family moment. We rely on 100% reliability regarding guest check-ins and property care.

Nature First: Respect the local ecosystem. Conserve water, manage waste responsibly, and treat our chickens with care and kindness.

Peace & Quiet (No Parties): This is a sanctuary of rest and reflection for our guests and neighbors.

Commitment: A minimum stay of 1 to 2 weeks.
