The Experience

I stayed here for three weeks and it was such a unique experience. Some days were quite long (up to 10 hours) if you're there alone, but it honestly doesn't really feel like work, because you are mostly riding and we always took the truck with the horses to the forest, which was absolutely beautiful! Marie and Marcel are kind people: Marie can be direct but is also very funny and kind, Marcel is great to talk to and you can really tell how much they love their animals! The food was really good, with a lot of homegrown produce and they really helped me A LOT with learning French. Merci !

I had a good time at Marie and Marcel's farm ! The horses and dogs are lovely, and the farm is beautiful. Daily tasks : Leading the horses to their pasture, feeding, cleaning the stables, riding or working with the mares on foot depending on the weather. In the afternoon, more riding or foot work, grooming, feeding and leading the horses back to their stales. There are also additional tasks like collecting eggs, caring for the hens… I loved my time spent with the horses and Marie and Marcel are kind experienced hosts, I recommand to people looking for the contact with horses and nature !

Marie-Christine and Marcel were so welcoming! I spent 2 weeks on their lovely farm and had an amazing time. We rode most days through beautiful forests and spent a day trekking in the hills. The work was fun and manageable eg. rides round the fields on the quad bike, sweeping, grooming horses, refilling water buckets etc. There was also plenty of time to myself as well. Marie prepared delicious meals with so much homegrown fruit and veg. They made such an effort to include me in conversations and I was able to practise my French lots. Thanks so much!

I spent some fantastic weeks volunteering with Marie-Christine and Marcel on their farm. Daily horse rides through the countryside were the highlight. I was provided with comfortable accommodation and daily delicious, nourishing meals. I learned a lot about horses, food production, nature, and life itself. My French also improved significantly through immersion and conversations. Marie-Christine and Marcel's hospitality was incredible. I highly recommend this authentic, enriching stay to anyone who loves horses and knows how to ride. Grateful for the knowledge and memories, merci pour tout!
