This was the most heartwarming and fulfilling volunteer experience. All the pups are super sweet. I really loved talking with Liljana about the shelter and her vision for the future. You can really see the heart and soul that goes into this place. At times it can be tricky to follow instructions if you're an English speaker, you just need to be patient and willing to be a little bit creative with communication. Thank you for everything Liljana, I hope to return again one day 💛

Visiting Protect Me is a deeply meaningful experience that I cannot recommend enough. It is a wonderful place run by passionate people dedicated to doing genuine good, and there is always plenty of work to be done. The dogs will steal your heart from the moment you arrive, making it so hard to say goodbye when it is time to leave! I wouldn't hesitate for a second to go back. If you ever visit, please give all the sweet dogs, along with Loreta, Lili, and Liljana, a huge hug from me!

I really enjoyed my time at the shelter. The dogs are in great hands and Liljana is very helpful and easy to communicate with. Everything was exactly as I expected, the facilities are great and everyone there was kind and friendly. The work was straightforward, so we had plenty of time for other activities, like walking the dogs along the beach. I also met volunteers from different countries, which was really nice. Roberto cooked us an amazing Italian lunch – papa al pomodoro, truly autentico. I would recommend this shelter to anyone! :)

I really enjoyed my experience at the shelter and had a wonderful time. The dogs are clearly cared for and loved, and Liljana puts the same effort to care for the volunteers. The house is nice and extremely well furnished and Liljana came to cook for us multiple times. The work is quite easy and quickly done, so we had a lot of free time to visit the city. I loved staying with the dogs, and I quickly got attached to them. I had a lot of fun with the volunteers and the permanent staff.

I had a really nice time at the shelter. My favourite part was being able to walk the dogs on the beach every day! Liljana was the best host I could've asked for and even took us for a traditional Albanian meal in the mountains ❤️❤️ she put so much effort into making sure the volunteers were comfortable and cared for, and the volunteer rooms have just been renovated so were super comfy and clean! The only thing I would say is that it would be better if the exact working hours were more clear, and be aware that you can hear a lot of dogs barking during the day :)

Andrea came in a difficult situuation helping us a lot as a personal dogsitter of Mali, a shelter dog with a difficul behavior with men.

I'll never forget my experience in the shelter. Liljana was a perfect host, cares about volunteers, open to feedbacks, open to talk and works really hard for shelter. She wants to improve conditions for volunteers. I really admire her. About the shelter, it is not a hard work + working hours is less than I have expected, rooms and beds are suitable for volunteers too. There is an employee who works with you, Lili, she does not speak English but she knows how to do everything if you follow her while working tasks are easy.

It was a great pleasure to have Furkan at the shelter!
A very hardworking volunteer, very lover with dogs cats and very respected by the other volunteers and staff.
It was also a pleasure to exchange Turkish-Albanian traditions that are very similar to the both countries.
For Us Furkan was like a little brother Erkek Kardes .

I'll never forget my experience at Protect Me in Vlore! Liljana is the nicest host EVER, she provides you with everything you need, is super flexible and really wants you to have a good experience. The work there with Lily (one of the workers) was easy to do and to understand, unfortunately she doesn't speak english but we still managed to communicate. The dogs there are super sweet and all fully vaccinated but PLEASE, before you decide to go there, be aware that these dogs can have trauma. Some of them need space, some of them might bite if you're not careful! MUCH LOVE TO YALL❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
