Program Details
Our project is a community-based coral reef conservation initiative in Lembata, Indonesia. We work closely with local fishermen and children to protect marine ecosystems and raise environmental awareness.
Volunteers usually help 4–5 hours per day, 5 days a week. Activities include coral reef restoration, beach clean-ups, teaching basic environmental education to local kids, and supporting simple daily community tasks.
We offer a simple and authentic island experience. Accommodation is basic, and volunteers will live close to nature and local culture. Meals may be shared with the community depending on availability.
This experience is ideal for open-minded people who are flexible, respectful, and willing to learn and contribute to a meaningful environmental mission.
Activities & Shift
A typical day starts with breakfast together in the morning. After that, we go to the ocean to work on coral reef conservation activities such as monitoring, simple restoration, or enjoying the marine environment.
Around midday, we relax and have lunch on the beach, enjoying the natural surroundings. After returning, volunteers have time to rest.
In the afternoon (around 3 PM to 5 PM), volunteers help teach and interact with local children, sharing basic English and environmental knowledge in a fun and informal way.
Activities are flexible depending on weather and ocean conditions, and we always prioritize a balanced and enjoyable experience.
Rules
We expect volunteers to be respectful, open-minded, and willing to adapt to local culture and simple living conditions. Punctuality and responsibility during agreed activities are important.
Volunteers should be comfortable with basic accommodation, limited facilities, and island life. Flexibility is essential, as activities may change depending on weather and ocean conditions.
We encourage a positive attitude, teamwork, and cultural exchange with the local community. Respect for the environment, especially the ocean and coral reefs, is very important.
This is not a luxury experience, but a meaningful opportunity to learn, share, and contribute.
