My first experience as a volunteer could not have been better! 🌿 I connected with nature, I learned about bamboo, garden beds, seedlings, composts, non-conventional edible plants (PANCs), and I was able to unleash my creativity by refurbishing wooden toys. Kiko is amazing, always open to communication, feedback, and suggestions, in addition to offering all the necessary support. His family is also wonderful and has Nega, the best dog in the world! ❤️ Being in the Atlantic Forest, it's natural to encounter insects and other animals, so it's worth being prepared for this coexistence. A very educational experience. I recommend.

What a wonderful experience volunteering! Very grateful for the trust and Kiko's eagerness to conduct a small study about the area's clays; it feels really good to be able to share my love for ceramics..may that little oven be a seed sprouting strong! Kiko, Thais and Chico..human beings who sow love and awareness on the earth, who dwell in harmony and respect for all that exists, who remember and help keep the Caiçara culture alive..pure beauty to meet them..until new encounters and synchronizations!💚☘️

I 100% recommend this volunteering for anyone who enjoys contact with nature and learning about permaculture and plants in a quiet and welcoming place.
Kiko knows what it means to be a very good host, clear in the instructions and tasks, respectful, flexible, always willing to listen and to teach. Only gratitude for the space and the hosts; I learned a lot. ,💚

Spectacular! The host Kiko is a 10/10 person! Excellent communication! Here I learned to identify and prepare some PANCs (Non-Conventional Edible Plants), I was able to put my hands in the soil, helping him to create beds and some agroforestry practices, in addition to hearing plenty of stories about Caiçara culture and Ilhabela. Highly recommended!

The island is a dream, the atmosphere of music and zamba is felt and lived. Kiko, a genius since we arrived, always helping with everything he could. He invited us to a hostel that played with his zamba band, which, by the way, sounds beautiful, and we spent some of our best nights. We worked a lot with the Bambu and he gave us the freedom in the last days to do what we love most; I painted a small mural and we took photos of the spaces. It was a very intense week and it will always stay in our memories.

Kiko is a calm, kind and surprising person! He helped us reach the house easily by coming to pick us up in a car; he brought us bananas, mangoes, apples and a few things for breakfast; he had us wash the clothes at his place. He is a musician and has a lot of instruments, mostly samba, and he taught me the basics to play the pandeiro!
He respects the agreed spaces and times, always letting us know with a quick message if he passes by the house where he is hosting us. The place is in "city" but it feels like being in the jungle. I adored him!

Extremely special place, a pleasant environment that conveys a lot of positive energy and tranquility, Kiko is a very intelligent and calm guy, respectful and very friendly, I got sick on the first day and he gave me all the necessary support, the place reminds you of a mini Amazon on a very crowded island, I highly recommend, there you learn about permaculture and about PANC - Non-Conventional Edible Plants

Kiko and his project are wonderful. I recommend it to everyone who loves nature and wants to learn more about it. I carried out permaculture and construction work, Kiko assisted in all the tasks and was very present with the whole team. The volunteers' space is cozy and very cool, and there is also a tent available if you prefer.

Volunteering at the site is a light and rewarding experience. Each day brings different tasks, and I felt I could learn a bit of everything! Kiko is a flexible host with clear communication, very patient with the guidance and details of each job, understanding everyone's pace; the volunteers' space is cozy, with the option of camping or the volunteers' house. We were in the midst of the tranquility and nature of the family-run site, and we were very well received by Nega and Chico. Working hours were always respected, and we could explore the city at a relaxed pace. I hope to return 🫶🏼🌿
