Nice cozy hostel located in the city central. Few fun events happening at Palma street and lots of free concerts in Teatro.
Embrace the culture by connecting the people around you. Don’t missed out.

I spent 72 hours at this hostel from July 1 to July 4 (the host modified my arrival date after I left).

I left early because I felt that the staff at the hostel made several unnecessary assumptions about my interests and abilities, and showed a lack of interest in working with me to resolve misunderstandings.

The truth is I only spent one day at work, and I told him we would make corrections because I understood it was his first day. He just forgot to dust off some furniture, and just for that observation I think he is uncomfortable. I think that if it's his first time doing it, it's normal that some attentions are given until he learns the system well, but given the language's limited understanding maybe he interpreted it wrong.

Look, I have no doubt about the good intentions that Diana and Juan have. But that isn't enough.
It's clear to me that they don't have much idea on what a Hostel is. There is no rules, no infrastructure at all, no methodology. Everything seems to be freestyle, and they seems to take decisions as their are needed. There's no prediction. For instance, there was an robbery issue on my staying. Money, watches, perfumes, clothes, you name it. All out of the sudden, anyone was as suspect. The owners didn't get seconds thoughts before pointing the finger to anyone, including you or me. Terrible.

Everyone blamed each other, but they didn't want to use the lockers when a secure place for sensitive belongings was provided, and because of this incident more security measures were taken by installing more cameras to prevent these inconveniences from happening again.

My experience in this volunteer program was very good. I felt very encouraged to develop my artistic side, since Diana financially supports our ideas to improve the hostel. I even ended up decorating Diana's own wedding party and later participated in it. Diana was like a mother to me. I recommend this volunteer program to everyone who wants to get to know Asunción and the local culture, socialize, discover new hobbies, make friends and practice languages. Overall, my experience was very good. I loved trying the local foods offered by the hostel and all the support ♡

I'd like to thank Diana and her entire volunteer team for welcoming me so well from day one 🤗. They explained all the tasks clearly and were always available to answer any questions 🙌. The hostel is really nice, has an excellent location and very good facilities. It also lived up to everything it offered on Worldpackers 😃. I learned a lot about the hostel's daily operation and the organization of the tasks. The environment is very warm and friendly, which made my experience as a volunteer amazing 🫶🇵🇾.

This experience was much more than volunteering. It was a place of connection, learning, kindness, and encounters that I will carry with me for life. I met people from all over the world, and each left a little of their story, culture, and love. I developed my Spanish, practiced yoga, meditation, and also my creativity... helping to bring more life to the spaces. And all of this was so special thanks to the incredible energy of Diana, a remarkable woman and mother, who turns the hostel into a place full of warmth, art, and love. Thank you so much ❤️✨

Volunteering at the hostel the house was enriching in many ways; you shared space with very interesting people from all over (Volunteers, guests and hosts) 🗺️. I learned a lot by collaborating in the construction and maintenance area 🔨. Likewise, I enjoyed working together with the other volunteers 🎏. Surely the hostel has little time in operation, so there are many things to do, but it is evolving/improving ✨. It is a very special volunteering experience, afterward it's hard to leave haha 🫰 . . . Hello people 🤙
