LA MAISON CABALLERO

Because here you're not just another volunteer… you're part of a process.
La Maison Caballero was born from La Petite Maison, a real, human and growing space, where you will live an authentic experience. It's not just a work-for-accommodation exchange: it is coexistence, learning and connection as a multicultural family, I call it the Neverland of the Lost Children, because I feel like the Wendy of the place.
We offer a very calm, familiar, safe and purposeful environment, ideal for those who are in transition, starting over or seeking clarity in their path.
Additionally, you will develop practical skills (hostel, construction, organization) while you share with people from different cultures.
If you're looking for something deeper, laughter, more than a typical volunteer program… this place is for you

About me and my team
I am Diana, the host, and I also run it with Juan, my life partner. This project was born from a deep personal transformation and with the desire to create a humane, safe and purposeful space for those who are in the process of change, as this place also came to me when I felt I could no longer go on; every change brought me happiness, new friends, almost brothers, I would say, who are interested in helping me while they also get to know my culture.
I work with a small team and we also have very special hosts (our dogs 🐶), who make the atmosphere warmer and closer.
Here we value empathy, respect and communication. We do not operate a rigid structure, but a collaborative environment where everyone contributes.
How will volunteers be treated?
Volunteers will be treated with respect, consideration and closeness. We like them to feel part of the place, not only as support, but as important people within the space.
We accompany the process of each volunteer, understanding that many are in moments of transition. We foster a climate of trust, where they can express themselves, learn and grow.
We expect the same in return: respect, commitment and good energy.
Here we not only share work… we share processes

Nice cozy hostel located in the city central. Few fun events happening at Palma street and lots of free concerts in Teatro.
Embrace the culture by connecting the people around you. Don’t missed out.

My experience in this volunteer program was very good. I felt very encouraged to develop my artistic side, since Diana financially supports our ideas to improve the hostel. I even ended up decorating Diana's own wedding party and later participated in it. Diana was like a mother to me. I recommend this volunteer program to everyone who wants to get to know Asunción and the local culture, socialize, discover new hobbies, make friends and practice languages. Overall, my experience was very good. I loved trying the local foods offered by the hostel and all the support ♡
