Baozi has been an absolutely incredible host! This was my first volunteering experience, and he made me feel at home from day one. I had the chance to improve my Chinese while also practicing my English. I’m truly grateful for the two months at “It Takes 2 Studio” and all the amazing memories I’m taking with me. Baozi, his family, and everyone I met at the host will always be welcome in Mexico! 🙏 I hope to visit them again soon. Good people deserve good meetings. 🫶🏻

I had a great experience volunteering at It Takes Two. Baozi gave me a lot of freedom to contribute, organize events, bring people together and try my own ideas. It's a great place if you're proactive and enjoy creating things rather than following a strict routine. I met many local people, made friends, practiced Mandarin and experienced a side of Shenzhen I probably wouldn't have seen as a tourist. Baozi is easygoing, generous and open-minded, and I genuinely felt part of the place. Thanks for everything, Baozi!

Truly one of the best travel experiences of my life! 🥹❤️
I’m incredibly grateful to Baozi for taking such wonderful care of me and making me feel so welcomed in a completely new and unfamiliar environment. I feel especially lucky because I got to experience and learn so much about Chinese culture and everyday life in a way I never could have as a regular tourist.
I’m so happy I chose to volunteer here. Beyond everything I learned, I got to share so many lovely moments and make beautiful memories with Baozi and Chinese friends that I will cherish forever!!

This experience was nothing short of amazing! I loved the tight knit community that we have made together with me, Baozi, Pedro (another volunteer on the job), and Nazmul. I was immersed in Chinese language learning in ways such as talking with locals, having simple conversations about names, culture differences and even similarities, and even coffee!😂 Apart from that, this experience opened my eyes into different perspectives in ways I cannot explain and even just for the 6 hour work days, you build so much connection. I would 100% recommend this project to anyone who comes across it 🫶

Baozi and his family are really nice people. They are caring and open minded. I had to leave early due to personal reasons but I wished I had more time with them. I totally recommend going to Shenzhen and meeting with them.

Thank you so very much for being such amazing host. You have made my experience really memorable. I wish I could stay more time with you. You are a very good Chinese teacher. I was able to learn so much Chinese in one week staying with you than I was able to learn going to Chinese language teaching college
I really liked going to his cultural salon and volunteering there because I was able to learn Chinese while doing many fun activities. I think he made it very easy for me to remember many Chinese words because his teaching methods are very natural and that was the best thing for me to learn

I had a very nice stay. We had many interesting discussions in English & Chinese. The host is very passionate about learning about different cultures. I cooked for my host, 4 or 5 ethnic dinners from different cultures: Italian, Dominican, Cuban, & Chinese . I introduced them to several different spices they had never tried before. They really enjoy learning about other cultures. They are also very interested in English language books, if have any extra books you can donate them to their library for all to enjoy. My host Baozi, was energetic, generous, kind & quite funny!

Volunteering with Baozi and his family was an amazing experience. They were incredibly supportive from before my arrival in China, helping with transport and making me feel at home in Shenzhen and Zhoukou.
I loved teaching and playing with Hale, sharing homemade meals, exploring Taikang, visiting Dongfang with Angie and meeting the rest of the family and even learning some Mandarin.

If you’re looking for a warm, supportive host family that values meaningful connections, cultural exchange, and a welcoming home, I highly recommend volunteering with this family.
中!谢谢恁一家人的照顾,我永远不会忘记!
Cheers!

Baozi and his wife Angie are the perfect hosts! They made me feel so welcome and I had a great time teaching their son Hale English, while at the same time learning Chinese from them ☺️ I was lucky to visit them both in Shenzhen and the home. I went on day trips with Angie and Baozi's family and got to eat a lot of homemade food that his mother cooked 😋 I learnt to play mahjong and will teach my own family when I get home! I would recommend them to anyone who asks, as they are lovely people 🫶🏻

Laura is the first volunteer we have had. She is so kind, considerate and easygoing. Almost everyone who has met her likes her. The twenty days we spent together were filled with happiness every single day. Nothing unpleasant happened. We highly recommend her, and we both hope to meet again in the future. You are always welcome here. Best wishes.

mahjong is so good to have fun and social .pls Make it flourish. When we meet again, let’s see who’s stronger.lol

I basically did nothing of what we agreed, I hopped on for social media, video editing and photography Instead I got to teach the host English, but exactly the way he demanded, like a professional English class (I'm not a professional), without a clear schedule The rest of the things I was promised were not met either (free tours, discounts, airport pickup, etc) He only bought groceries for me to cook, but nothing more than eggs and rice. He even got angry once because I did not pay for my own bread. I guess when the community opens, it will be more fun to volunteer.
