Carambola Courtyard

Rather than only viewing China through videos, come to feel this country with your whole heart and soul. I’d like to invite kind, outstanding international friends to build an international community together. We aim to make travel more meaningful and heartfelt: meet new companions, practice your Chinese, and design fun, worthwhile activities with equally lovely people.
Through this video channel for our international community, I hope we can document our wonderful travel stories and spread positive values and life attitudes to the world — peace, kindness, passion, and uplifting energy.
Let us chase poetry and distant horizons for this beautiful vision, and create something remarkable side by side!

1.About me
I am a self-employed entrepreneur living in Shenzhen, China, and I hold the qualifications of China Practicing Lawyer, Chinese Certified Public Accountant and Tax Agent. Over more than ten years of work, I have earned enough money to support my family and achieved progress from extreme poverty to the general middle class. Starting from 2023, I chose to resign from my job and become a freelancer. In the years after that, I have hosted more than 30 international travelers at my home for free (I used Couchsurfing before, but rarely use it now), providing them with accommodation and some daily living help. I like most of the international friends I have hosted, and many of us have kept in touch. Of course, there are a very small number of travelers I do not like. But nothing substantially harmful bad things have happened. Therefore, I have no regrets about hosting every traveler. I love the world life, and I choose to believe life can be wonderful, the world and society deserve our trust and love . Life should not only have the trivial hardships right in front of us, but also expectations for poetry and distant places.
I hope travel is not just looking with eyes and taking photos for check-ins in a cursory way; it should truly experience and feel the lives and cultures of ordinary local people, and make interesting and outstanding friends. Travel is also not only about travelers gaining wonderful experiences and receiving help from locals in foreign countries, but also a two-way giving that uses your own talents to add beauty to the local area and create value for others. One person is lonely, two people have companionship, and happiness is always mutual.

2.About My Staff
I have a partner, who is my very good friend, and we run the \"不要太2 International Community\" together.

3.How can the volunteers expect to be treated
From my side
Previous volunteers lived in my home, and I treated them as members of my family (not guests). We played together, lived together, helped each other, shared and bore things together.
For future volunteers, I am likely to provide separate international dormitories for you. I will treat you as kind friends, we will help each other, share and bear things together.I really hope what we chase can turn \"you and me\" into us naturally.
From your side
I have to say, the question \"How can the volunteers expect to be treated\" also applies to volunteers themselves. Logically, how you treat life and others essentially determines how life and others treat you. I have sufficient ability and goodwill, and I am willing to treat my volunteers well. At the same time, I also hope volunteers have the same qualities and mindset.Sharing is a mindset we take the initiative to uphold, not a matter of calculating financial gains or haggling over rights and obligations.
I do believe the spirit, the soul of a volunteer project, lies in sharing the same convictions and aspirations, rather than mere financial calculation and consideration.

Baozi has been an absolutely incredible host! This was my first volunteering experience, and he made me feel at home from day one. I had the chance to improve my Chinese while also practicing my English. I’m truly grateful for the two months at “It Takes 2 Studio” and all the amazing memories I’m taking with me. Baozi, his family, and everyone I met at the host will always be welcome in Mexico! 🙏 I hope to visit them again soon. Good people deserve good meetings. 🫶🏻

I had a great experience volunteering at It Takes Two. Baozi gave me a lot of freedom to contribute, organize events, bring people together and try my own ideas. It's a great place if you're proactive and enjoy creating things rather than following a strict routine. I met many local people, made friends, practiced Mandarin and experienced a side of Shenzhen I probably wouldn't have seen as a tourist. Baozi is easygoing, generous and open-minded, and I genuinely felt part of the place. Thanks for everything, Baozi!

Truly one of the best travel experiences of my life! 🥹❤️
I’m incredibly grateful to Baozi for taking such wonderful care of me and making me feel so welcomed in a completely new and unfamiliar environment. I feel especially lucky because I got to experience and learn so much about Chinese culture and everyday life in a way I never could have as a regular tourist.
I’m so happy I chose to volunteer here. Beyond everything I learned, I got to share so many lovely moments and make beautiful memories with Baozi and Chinese friends that I will cherish forever!!

This experience was nothing short of amazing! I loved the tight knit community that we have made together with me, Baozi, Pedro (another volunteer on the job), and Nazmul. I was immersed in Chinese language learning in ways such as talking with locals, having simple conversations about names, culture differences and even similarities, and even coffee!😂 Apart from that, this experience opened my eyes into different perspectives in ways I cannot explain and even just for the 6 hour work days, you build so much connection. I would 100% recommend this project to anyone who comes across it 🫶

Baozi and his family are really nice people. They are caring and open minded. I had to leave early due to personal reasons but I wished I had more time with them. I totally recommend going to Shenzhen and meeting with them.
