Our experience with Ana was very good. She is very kind, attentive, and speaks several languages. We talked in Spanish and French, and she also taught us some words in Portuguese. We really enjoyed sharing this time with her and her cats. Ana rescues many cats, so it is important to be comfortable with the care and cleaning. We also helped with household chores, food, plants, and crafts. The location is great for getting to know São Martinho, Nazaré, Óbidos, and Alcobaça. We are very grateful for the experience!

We had a great experience at Ana Paula's house! 😊 She welcomed us very warmly, is friendly and helpful, and speaks Spanish, English, French and Portuguese, which makes communication much easier.
The routine included cleaning the litter boxes, sweeping and wiping, helping with meals and organizing the garage/workshop. At night, we cleaned the boxes and watered the garden.
The cats are adorable, especially the kittens! 🐱❤️ The house is old and can have quite a bit of dust and accumulated objects, so you need to be willing to clean regularly.

First of all, a deep thanks to Ana (my second grandmother), she is an incredible person, for her kindness and affection. She has made me feel at home.
I have been very comfortable in the room, so I could rest very well and have privacy.
The meals were sufficient, excellent, nutritious and varied.
I have learned to take care of her cats (they are adorable).
The daily activities are manageable and very well regulated.
She has taken me to get to know the nearby villas and towns on several occasions.
It was a great experience, without a doubt I would recommend it and I would apply again.

It was a unique life experience. The region is lovely to visit and stroll around, the tasks are diverse and Ana adapts to what the volunteer wants to develop; in my case a bit of gardening, cleaning and care of the various cats she seeks to welcome at home, but I also helped in the crafts workshop which for me was really cool! A note to anyone with respiratory problems, because the house is old, many items accumulated and therefore dust and cat fur buildup, added to the house always being closed. Ana has A LOT of knowledge, each meal is an experience, I learned a lot and had an incredible time.

The tasks are easy, such as taking care of the kittens, helping with cleaning the house and organizing the craft workshop. There are 2 days off per week and 5 hours of tasks per day during the week. The location is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet; it is relatively close to the beach, maybe about a 20-minute walk, but I wouldn’t recommend walking there because of the highway. There is a bus during the week, but on weekends there aren’t many options; Uber is better, it’s cheap and safe.
