The school was my first volunteering experience in Peru, and I genuinely loved every moment of it. I want to start by acknowledging the incredible hospitality of Lucia and Gaby. Lucia cooks such delicious meals and has a way of making you feel completely at home. Gaby is kind, warm‑hearted, and so easy to connect with — her presence brings a lot of comfort to the space. Manuel is a thoughtful and attentive host who always makes sure you feel welcome and supported at the school. The children are truly wonderful; full of talent, personality, and so much potential. I would 100%recommend the school.

The experience of living in the Belén neighborhood and making a real impact through education is something I will remember forever as my first volunteering experience!

The activities inside and outside Casa Joabe allowed me to know, understand, and live the stories of Sachachorro, Belén, and Iquitos.

Manuel cares for the volunteers and is always willing to help, and he also makes sure we enjoy our stay with other volunteers. I met wonderful people during my two weeks at Manuel's house, and together with Gaby and Lucy, I really felt cared for and at home. Thanks for everything ❤️

The children at the school are charming; it's easy to help them with their tasks and it's very fun to play with them afterward. You won't get bored, since both Manuel and Gaby will introduce you to their family and friends; you will always be welcome to spend time with them and to know Iquitos, Belén and even the jungle (if you wish).
