The experience

Hello!

We're looking for volunteers to help run our small hostel in Kutaisi. We've been open less than six months, but with over one hundred reviews we're at 9.7 on booking.com; I'm sure you'll like the place as much as the guests do.

The job itself isn't difficult: making beds cleaning (bath)rooms, selling the odd beer/ice cream, and generally being a lovely person, helping guests and making everyone feel relaxed and happy :)

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Program Details

Depending on availability, the accommodation will either be in a private double room in the basement (toilet on the ground floor, shower on the first), or a bed in the dormitory.

We're not a party hostel, but it's also common to spend evenings sat in the garden with a few beers. It's a relaxed, chill atmosphere, but cleanliness and reliability are very important to the business, so standards are high.

Activities & Shift

We're still new, so this hasn't been nailed down yet, but generally there'll be a morning shift and an evening shift. The morning would mainly be cleaning, and you should be able to do a good job of it in three hours.
The evening shift is mainly being around to check guests in, answer questions and keeping the place neat.

You will get two days off a week, usually consecutive. When fully staffed, it should be easy enough to do a morning shift, then have two days off, then start again with an evening shift, so effectively 72hrs off work for you to go away and explore Georgia.

Rules

Zero tolerance of any illegal drugs in the hostel.
