The Experience

We need help with gardening in the community gardens; serving customers in our cafe and preparing the guest bedrooms in the Healing Centre. You may have to prepare food for other volunteers or yourself. In return you will learn about permaculture gardening, making preserves and medicines and cooking. We expect 25 hours per week and you have 2 free days to explore Glastonbury which is a sacred town and popular tourist destination.

I really enjoyed my time volunteering at the project Waters! Juliet is a very kind host and an excellent cook. I was mostly helping out with gardening, with a little bit of housekeeping work. The schedule is quite flexible as there's always something that can be worked on, the gardening work was mostly mildly physical and I found it quite centering. It was also really nice to get to know some of the community members and familiar faces from the neighbourhood. It was just the restorative experience I was hoping to have after a lot of fast-paced travel.
