The experience at Viet Vintage Hostel lacked the structured guidance and leadership I've found in other volunteer placements. For my first five days, I was left to manage the hostel alone, working 6-8 hours daily with only a brief, untranslated tutorial for a Vietnamese app. The language barrier with my coworker made it overwhelming, often hindering my ability to assist guests. The lack of organization, clear schedules, and management was a significant challenge. I provided feedback to the owner, Jack, hoping to help him improve the system for future volunteers.

I wanted to start by saying every single person in the staff was amazing! Jack was like an angel there. I am so thankful for them. Facility: Unfortunately, the hostel isn't shown in the post & that should've been my warning. The condition of the hostel & the way it smells, made it impossible for me to stay to do the volunteering (left after 2 hours). Location: Great, in the middle of the Old Quarter, but the Hostel itself is in the back of a long and somewhat dirty alley, because of this there are lots of cockroaches in & around. Thank you for your hospitality and wish you amazing things!
