Help with odd jobs while improving your English!
The experience
I need some help in my garden: weeding, cutting the grass, sweeping up, pruning the shrubs and tree, trimming the hedge, preparing the soil and planting new plants as necessary. There is also a small decked area at the bottom of the garden which needs the wood replacing. Sections of the outside of the house need painting too and the main deck needs cleaning and re-staining. They are straightforward tasks for a practical person.

Program Details
You'll be part of my family for the time you're here. On the days you are working, you will have 3 meals a day provided, plus all drinks and snacks. On your days off you will have bed and breakfast and drinks when you're in the house, but you will organise your own lunch and dinner. You are welcome to watch TV with me in the evenings. I am also an English teacher, so I'm happy to correct your English if you wish and lend you books to study from while you are here. I volunteer at a free community English class on a Thursday afternoon, which you are welcome to attend while you are staying.
Activities & Shift
I have a few jobs I need doing around the house, some painting, both inside and outside; some gardening work as well as replacing the planks on a small deck at the bottom of the garden. I am happy for you to help with whichever jobs you feel you are qualified to do. I also have a 6-year old Labrador and if people like dogs, they are welcome to walk her too.
I still work, but only a few hours' per week, so I like to negotiate the shifts you work in accordance with my diary, but I am happy to negotiate if you are doing any online work 'at home'. You have 2 days off a week but these may not be the weekend - again, subject to negotiation.
Rules
There's no smoking in the house but volunteers are welcome to smoke in the garden.
Volunteers shouldn't invite other people into the house or garden at any time, without permission from me.
You should contribute to the daily tasks of sharing accommodation, ie: helping with washing and drying up; clearing up everything after yourself if you cook anything; not using all the hot water when having a shower but being aware of the needs of other people in the house.
