The Experience

We are looking for someone to help us by accompanying Elisa, a 96-year-old grandmother who only needs someone to keep her company, talk with her, remind her to take her pills, and eat with her. She goes to the bathroom by herself, doesn't need help for that; she just spends a lot of time alone and loves to talk, so we need someone to spend time with her, cook for the two of you (you and her) and remind her to take her pills.

I was working with Nixon at the reserva and at Lodge, fixing things, cleaning, and helping with whatever was needed. Very calm, and the work feels important and effective. Each volunteer has their private room, and all of Aurora's breakfasts and lunches are incredible, the sodas and Nixon's rotisserie chicken as well. I learned a lot about the Peruvian jungle, its traditions, its reasons, and its daily life. I arrived not knowing how long I would stay; I stayed three weeks and could have stayed much longer, quite easily. A pleasure to share this experience with you all - Aurora, Nixon, Charo, and Javi.

It was a wonderful experience! From the first day I felt very welcome. Mrs. Aurora was always very attentive to everything I might need. Accompanying Mrs. Elisa was an experience I will carry in my heart forever. The reserve is a very pretty town that lets you connect with nature and with the locals.

An incredible experience. The work was calm, during the morning shift, helping at the reception and with cleaning some rooms, and everything went as agreed. For me, the highlight was Aurora's cuisine, with some of the most complete and delicious breakfasts and lunches I have tried anywhere in the Amazon. The lodge is perfect for disconnecting, being in the middle of the jungle and living in a slower pace. It is well worth it if you are looking for peace and to disconnect a little from the world. They now have internet and a washing machine. The town is very quiet. I am very grateful!

The experience was fun; Aurora taught us about the local gastronomy and everything about the place. Aurora is a charming person; we are grateful to her for her kindness and empathy toward everyone, always trying to improve and give her best. We recommend this experience if you enjoy gastronomy and sampling it!

Miradon the reservation was a beautiful experience; we were able to try a fairly wide variety of local food and get to know the town of the reservation; Aurora is an excellent person, respectful and always willing to listen to our opinion.
