The Experience

Have you ever thought about volunteering and enjoying the beach at the same time? Well, this opportunity is for those who love sand between their toes. Our hostel has an extension (Salvador Backpackers Beach) in addition to our main house. We are also at Pituaçu Beach, a 7-minute walk from our house. A huge thank you to Braulio and his wife Livia! They were so kind and made me feel like a true volunteer rather than an employee. And the other volunteers were amazing (especially Ju❤️) Work was really easy, and Braulio was very flexible. A few things for future volunteers to keep in mind: the volunteers room has no AC and it might be a problem in the summer. Breakfast felt a bit small for five people, and not knowing Portuguese can be challenging since Braulio is still learning English. Still, he is a great host, and overall, I loved this experience and would definitely recommend staying here

It was an amazing experience; Bráulio was very welcoming, a great person. The place is also quite beautiful; it looks like a guesthouse and is well organized and clean. I finished a little before the expected date because I had another commitment, but it was very understandable; I can only thank you.

Fun is the word!!! The vibes are high and lots of beach time! The tasks are well defined and conscientious, a family-like and cozy environment. Bráulio and Dionata are attentive hosts and promote sports such as altinha (beach keep-ups), surfing, Crossfit... I had a lot of fun working on the beach with them. I will return someday, grateful to everyone involved ❤️

It was MASSA! the hostel was my entry door to SSA, something I will carry in my ♡. I stayed on the overnight shift; the tasks were quite calm, night yes and night no. On the days I was there, for breakfast there was coffee-coffee, fresh bread, eggs, banana and couscous. On my days off I went to the beach shack, played altinha (aulas kkk), there were discounts on drinks, chairs were free. There were SUP boards and bodyboards to enjoy. I got to know the city. The other volunteers were a gift: Nure, Zequi, Franco, Mi. There was lots of conversation, cooking and laughter. The hosts were a 10/10! I’m grateful ✨
